Basic Chemistry :

Saturation Temperature:

It is that temperature at which a substance will change its state from liquid to vapor
or from vapor to liquid.

Also matter of fact the T (sat.) is the maximum temperature a substance will hold
its liquid state without converting into vapor. Similarly, it is the minimum
temperature of vapor where decreasing the temperature below this will cause in
converting it into liquid gradually.

One can say it’s a bridge temperature between vapor and liquid phases. So it is
evident that the temperature at which a liquid will start vaporizing is same as the
temperature at which the vapor will convert back to liquid state.

For example , saturation temperature of water is 100 degree Celsius. At this

temperature water vapors will start to form.

Sensible heat versus Latent heat :

The heat/energy that changes the temperature of a substance (increase or decrease)

is known as sensible while the heat that changes the state of a substance like from
solid to vapor is called latent heat.
