Acknowledgement

I would like to thank Arvind, Santej unit for giving me the opportunity to undergo training in
the textile department and for extending their support towards us all throughout our
internship.

I would also like to thank NIFT, Gandhinagar for giving us the opportunity and facilitating
our internship.

It was a great learning experience throughout to see one of the most well planned and
advanced textile units. We take the opportunity to thank all the people who guided us through
the entire process and made our training a success by sharing their knowledge.

I would like to thank Mahesh kadam, QA head at Arvind, Ravikant Singh (mentor), without
whose support and guidance the internship couldn’t have been completed satisfactorily.

I am also grateful to our college mentor Mr. Pranav Vora for guiding us at every stage and
making this project a success.

Objective of the Internship

The main objectives of the internship were:


1. Understanding basic principles of production of textiles.
2. In depth study and understanding of all process involved in textile production and the
machinery and equipment used.
3. Knowledge about the company.
4. Understanding the company’s process flow in production.
5. Study the work environment and practices followed for textile production.

The project is based on four weeks (i.e., June 3, 2019 to June 28, 2019) internship in Arvind Mills-
Bottoms Division, Santej unit. It covers the information and learning experiences related to
manufacturing of bottom weight fabrics and the processes involved are:

 Spinning
 Weaving
 Dyeing
 Finishing
 Testing
