CHAPTER TWO
• INTERSHIP EXPERIENCE
• 2.THE PROCESS OF COMPANY THAT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING
 Kombolcha Textile Share Company/KTSC/ is the legendary and most
popular among Ethiopian industry in their production profit and their
customer client .In KTSC so many process has been Taken. Its process
are divided in to so many department.
 These are : Engineering department , spinning department ,weaving
department , processing and garment department.
• 2.1Engineering department
• In this department there are three sub department those are
motor winding shop ,electronics shop and mechanical shop
department.
• 2.1.1,motor winding
•  in this department we have seen that the winding of motor
by considering
• Slot of motor by counting number of slot from the slot
• Speed of the motor by using this formula N=120*f/p&90*f/P for three phase and
single phase respectively.
• Pitch , pole apart and phase angle

in this department we have seen different types of motor and how it winded .in
addition to this we have also seen different ways motor starting method such as
.direct online motor starting method
.forward reverse (manual) motor starting method
.forward reverse with in timer (automatic) motor starting method
.star delta motor starting method through in breaker ,contactor ,switch timer and
jumper wire.
2.1.2 mechanical workshop
Mechanical engineering workshop is a place where company perform
the operation for various processes involved in manufacturing and
production. the workshop practice course makes students competent in
handling practical work in engineering environment. Mechanical
engineering workshop is also involved in different maintenance/repair
works for the company.
in this department we have seen that different types of machine, those
machine are listed below Milling machine
Shaper machine
Power hacksaw machine
 Drilling machine
 Surface grinder
Tool grinder
• The lathe , milling and power hacksaw machine are as shown below

2.1.3 foundry shop

Foundry is one of the manufacturing process by which a desired shape of metal is obtained by
heating up to its molten state (liquid state), and pouring into mould cavity. after some time
metal is allowed to cool and solidify. the solidified piece of metal is known as casting
• 2.1.4 Electronics work shop
• In this shop we have seen that
• Different types board have seen , those board are
 Master circuit board(MCB)-control machine software and complete
machine operation .
 Inside board repair(IBR)-control the motion of frame like up-down and
horizontal moments
 IPS board-control the full observation of power supplay
 MIB (machine identification board)
 Encaged power and fuse(EPDF)
 Trips-for let-off and take-up moment
• In this shop we have also seen that soldering and de soldering of;
 .capacitors
 .dip –IC
 .MOSFET
 .transformer
 .repair the components in proper way and cleaning the printed boards
properly
 .handling the printed circuit board in proper way
2.2 spinning department
spinning, in textiles, process of drawing out fibres from a mass and twisting them
together to form a continuous thread or yarn simply the process of converting of
the natural or synthetic/filament in to yarn .... The term yarn may be defined as a
linear collection of filaments or fibres in a twisted state or tightly bound by other
means, and possessing good mechanical properties.
• In the spinning thier are so many process are taken.
• These are:
 blow room
 carding
 draw frame
 speed frame
• 2.2.1 BLOWROOM
• Blow room is the starting of the spinning operastion where the fiber is
opened ,cleaned ,mixed , micro dust removed and evened thus passed
to carding machine without removing more good fibers.
• Bale are taken to the blow room and prepared for the process ,briefly,
basic operations in the blow room are seen below figure
main objective of blow frame are:
• opening
• Cleaning
• Dust removal
• mixing and blending
• Lap or flocks formation
• In put and out put of blow room
• Input=fibers
• Out put=lap/opened fiber tuft
• 2.2.2 Carding
Carding is the second process conducted in spinning after blow room followed by
combining, drawing, roving, and cone winding in textile manufacturing
process.the machine is called marzoli.
• Objective of carding process
 Opening into individual fibers
 Elimination of Impurities
 Elimination of dust
 fiber Blending
 Fiber orientation
 Siliver formation
• INPUT : bloow room lap/fibers(CF) OUTPUT: Carded siliver
• 2.2.3 DRAW FRAME
• Draw frame is a machine for combining and drawing slivers . carded slivers are fed
into the draw frame . in this stage fiber are straighten and fiber blending can also
be done.the machine called rieter.
• Objective of drawing
 To straighten the crimped and hooked fibres in the card sliver.
  To improve the short medium and long term unevenness of the sliver by doubling.
  To produce a more uniform sliver.
  To achieve a fairly through parallelization of the fibre along the sliver axis.
  To reduce the knot/unit length of card sliver.
  To mix the fibre intimately.
  To make the perfect blend of fibre.
 To remove the dirt, dust from carded sliver.
• Input= Carded Sliver and output= Drawn Sliver
• 2.2.4 SPEED/ROVING/SIMPLEX FRAME
The output from the draw frame is fed into the roving frame (also called ‘speed
frame or simplex machine or flyer frame‘) where the linear density of sliver is
reduced by drafting and the resultant product is called the roving. After the
drafting operation, the roving is wound on the bobbin. During winding, a little
amount of twist is imparted to the roving.
object of speed/roving/simplexframe
To convert drawn sliver into roving and to make it suitable for ring frame
process.
To reduce the linear density of sliver (weight per unit length).
To insert a little amount of twist in the roving to improving strength of it.
To make large conical package of roving suitable for ring frame.
To ensure easy and safe transportation of material by making large packagese
To draft the drawframe sliver to reduce weight per unit length.
To wind twisted roving onto the bobbin
• 2.3 WEAVING DEPARTMENT
• After preparing yarn from the spinning department weavens are prepared by
weaving department
• In this department we have seen that different types of weaving machine
from the old up to the latest like sulzer , Dornier ,picanol and others .
• Weaving is a process of production fabric in which two separate sets of yarn
are interlaced at a right angle to form a fabric or cloth. Basically the a process
of making weaven fabric known as weaving.
• This process of weaving relate with yarn form spinning doubling and twisting,
winding creeling, warpong, sizing ,drawingin/drafting in ,looming.

BASSIC MOTION AND ESSANTIAL PARTS

In order to interlace warp and weft threads to
produce a fabric on any type of loom ,three
operations are necessary
1, SHELDING : separating the warp thread into
two layers to form a tunnel known as shed.
2 , PICKING : passing the weft thread through
the shed.
3, BEATING UP: pushing the newly inserted
length weft.
• Two additional operations are required if the weaving is to be continuous.
• 1,WARP CONTROL(LEET- OFF): this motion delivers warp to the weaving area at
the required rate and at suitable constant tension by unwinding it from a weaver
beam.
• 2,CLOTH CONTROL(TAKE- UP): this motion withdraws fabric from the weaving area
at a constant rate that will give the required pick spacing and the wind into a
roller. after these operations took place a weaving cycle is completed. weaving
cycle are repeated over and over again until the cloth reaches the desired length.
• Processes;
 winding:
 Beam warping
 Sizing
 Drawing –in and
 Loom sheding (weaving)
• 2.3 PROCESSING AND GARMENT DIPARTMENT
• Garment production is an organized activity consisting of sequential processes
such as laying, marking, cutting, stitching, checking, finishing, pressing and
packaging. This is a process of converting raw materials into finished products. It
will be difficult to maintain the industry if production is not, up to the mark if the
preproduction phase of preparation of material is not properly carried out.
• Ready to wear apparel or garment manufacturing involves many processing steps,
beginning with the idea or design concept and ending with a finished product.
• CHAPTER THREE
• 3.OVER ALL BENEFITS THAT WE GAINED FROM THE INTERNSHIP
 We have improved Practical Skills : Practical skill is connected with real
situations rather than ideas and theories. We learned to live together
and work in team with worker. We get elaborated experience that will be
useful in our future profession
 We have improved Interpersonal Communication Skill: It helps us to
understand how and why people behave and communicate in different
ways to construct and negotiate a social life.
 We have improved Team Playing Skills: When we are with in team
playing, anyone can raise his opinion. During team playing, our concept
may be varied. At this moment respect others idea.
 We have improved Leadership Skill:. Even though we are not on the
position of leader ship, we have understood how the leader should act.
 We have improved Understanding Work Ethics Related Issues:
Respecting the entrance and out time of work in the company (Being
punctual), that gives good experience for our future life. Giving respect
for others in work place and Giving a special respect for our work.
 We have entrepreneurship Skills
• CHAPTER FOUR
• 4.CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
• Kombolcha Textile Share Company is integrated company which processes 100% of
cotton from spinning up to finishing and some garment processing machines. The
main three sections are:-Spinning department, Weaving department and
Processing and Garment department. During in intern period we have focused on
spinning section
• In this project, we have focused on the cause of more of cotton are removal from
the machine it cause the machine will break, defalcate of cotton and it is obstacle
for operator . still it is clean manually by human but this types of cleaning method
has so many draw back..like:
• It is difficult to clean if the machine has electric shock and firing.
• All cotton cannot be clean properly with manually.
• It is very tired to clean reaptedly for a long time
• It needs a lot of mannuall labour
• So to over come this problem we are design the automatic floor cleaner robot. This
Robot is very simple in construction and easy to operate, anybody can operate this
machine easily. The overall cost of this machine is also cheap. And it illuminated
human errors, provides cleaning activity with much more efficiency, and cost
effective as compare to manual labor involved.
