2.2 our performance in KTSC

 In the first few weeks of our internship we try to observe what

the mechanics do and we try to communicate with them even

if that corona breaks up our internship program.

 During every maintenance period, we significantly

participated to improve our practical skill.

2.3 Challenges we have been faced
 The main challenges we have been faced is corona virus/

covid-19/ for almost 6 month.

 The transport system is difficult.

 Punishment for unpunctuality for any reason.

 The scarcities of money while doing our internship after come

back.
 Loudness of the machine harm our hearing ability until we

adapts.
 Lack of safety shoes and clothes.

CHAPTER FOUR
DESIGN OF VACUUM COTTON
CLEANER
4.1. Introduction
 The vacuum cleaner, also known as a sweeper or hoover, is a

device that uses an air pump fan, to create a partial vacuum to

suck up dust and dirt, usually from floors, and walls.

 Our machine is designed and developed by us to solve the

backwardness of the manually operated cotton cleaning
machine found in kombolcha Textile Share Company.

4.2. Statement of the problem
 Cottony dust or cottony aerosol is one of the major problems

that we found in all section of the KTSC around the floors,

walls and internal, external parts of the machine.

 Therefore our main consideration to design vacuum cotton

cleaner machine to reduce:-
• Time loss of working hour
• Health problem
• Labor wage

4.3 Objectives of the project
4.3.1 General objective
 The main objective of this project is to design vacuum cotton

cleaner machine for Kombolcha Textile Share Company.

4.3.2 specific objective

 To design shaft

 To design and select Fan and Fan housing

 To select the appropriate wheel and bearing.

 To select the required motor.

 To determine stress analysis of each parts.

 To design geometrical model and parts by using solid works

2016.

4.4. Literature Review
 The first manual models, using bellows, were developed in the

1860s, and the first motorized designs appeared at the turn of

the 20th century
 A similar model was constructed by Melville R. Bissell of

Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1876, who also manufactured carpet

sweepers
 Corrine Dufour of Savannah, Georgia received two patents in

1899 and 1900 for another blown air system that seems to have
featured the first use of an electric motor.
 The first vacuum-cleaning device to be portable and marketed at

the domestic market was built in 1905 by Walter Griffiths, a

manufacturer in Birmingham, England.

4.6 working principle of the project

 our machine vacuum cotton cleaner can work in simple

mechanism. First connect the motor cable to power socket and
start or turn motor on then by pushing the machine using
handle part start cleaning the cotton when cotton reaches the
upper parts of the garbage storage box stop or turn off the
motor and take out the cotton from the garbage box and repeat
this procedure until you finish cleaning finally turn off the
motor.

CHAPTER FIVE
Conclusion and Recommendation

5.1Conclusion
 This machine helps to minimize the efforts required by

workers to clean the floor of the room. This machine is eco

friendly, easy to operate and low capital cost.

Our machine have the following advantages:-

 The machine works automatically

 It take less time to clean the cotton from the floor

 It is not dangerous to workers health

 It minimize human effort

5.2 Recommendation
 Our machine was automatically operated. Based on the

findings and conclusions in this report, the following

recommendations are made:-
1.Safety should be observed in work place during both
production and service.
2. The machines should be checked frequently.
3. Recommended grease should be changed and replaced in the
schedule time.
4. Use this mini vacuum cotton cleaner machine for the factory
properly.
