DEVELOPMENT OF RASPBERRY PI LABORATORY CIRCUIT TRAINER

SUMMARY

The study is focused on the development of Raspberry Pi circuit trainer and courseware.
The researchers integrated in the trainer several compatible sensors, electronic components
and modules that can be used for simulation and had undergone functionality test. The
courseware had used Python programming language implemented on an Integrated
Development Environment (IDE) called Gambas3. It contained all conventional course
materials in text format like exercises, sample code and some defined Python functions and
syntax with multimedia additions so that users could perform in the trainer. Code
interpreter and error handling was also added in the courseware in order for the users to
visualize the desired output and to determine if the code inputted was incorrect. The
researchers concluded that the implementation of the trainer and the courseware would
greatly improve students’ learning and instructors’ teaching capabilities regarding the
Raspberry Pi circuit manipulation and programming. The researchers recommended the
introduction of web-based or server-based projects since it has not been thoroughly studied
and to find another IDE aside from Gambas3.
