10 COMMANDMENTS OF AN LIS

June 8, 2011 at 4:14pm

You shall not be late. An LIS is expected to come on time, submit assignments and reports on or before
the given time target, and shall be prompt in meeting all deadlines.

You shall be presentable at all times. The moment you step out in the real world and be deployed in
the different schools, you are carrying the name of the company DIWA. An LIS is expected to be
presentable at all times and be at his/her best even under pressure. Girls should always tie their hair
neatly, wear light make-up and guys should have clean haircut.
LIS should tuck-in their shirts consistently during school days/ trainings.

You shall live and breathe Genyo. An LIS should know the ins and outs of the LMS, and s/he shall have
a wide knowledge about the product itself. Learning Integration Specialists should know Genyo by heart.

You shall not commit, give your word, or assure the school administrators/teachers any promise
without informing your E-learning Specialist and Training Manager. There would be a couple of
instances wherein the school administrators and teachers would be requesting directly to you. Never
commit; have the matter be known by the right people to handle the request and tell the admin/teachers
politely that you will refer the request to the proper authorities.

You shall always write an action plan / proposal before implementing a school program. An action
plan is comparable to a teacher’s lesson plan. Having this before implementing a program would
guarantee a smooth flow of the implementation and a trace of success.

You shall be responsible with your actions. The moment you become an LIS, you will instantly gain
responsibility with the words you say, the things you do, and the actions you make. Always bear in mind
that your actions should reflect the statements that you declare. Never forget that you are a professional
and you are under an esteemed organization.

You shall speak up and listen. When you have a good idea, share it. When you have a question, ask it.
When you need help, say so. When your help is needed, offer it. When you see a scene of disrespect,
step forward and set things right.
Then listen. Always remember that poor listening leads to innumerable mistakes. So as an LIS, you
should know how to listen to the instructions, comments and suggestions of the ES, Training Manager,
Administrators, teachers and students.

You shall maintain a good working relationship among your colleagues, superiors, and school co-
workers. We work as a team, and a team will not function properly if the members do not work
harmoniously. Treat everyone in a professional level and maintain a pleasant working relationship.
Understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses and offer help if necessary.

You shall always stay within the budget. One of the corporate value that is very important and
applicable in your function as an LIS is FRUGALITY. Bear in mind that you shall stay within the budget all
the time. Be able to manage your resources well and purchase materials that are enough and would last
for a long time.

Above all, you shall never forget to have FUN while working. You are a part of a young and dynamic
team. The key to successful working is very simple – enjoy, love, and have fun while working. Remember:
If you are not enjoying in what you are doing, then you are not doing it right. Smile, laugh, and have fun.
