Evidence Consolidation Activity 2

Record a video expressing to what extend you agree or disagree with Dan Pink’s
view on motivation using the present perfect, phrasal verbs, and other functions
practiced in this learning activity.
B. How to do it?
2. Read your notes, decide if you agree or disagree with his position, and record a
video expressing your opinion.

I don’t agree with his opinion. I have had many different jobs in my life and
the most important factor has always been money. For money, people get up
earlier, work out harder, and are able to do the impossible. You need money
if you want to take care of your family. When I am looking for a job, I always
think about the salary first. I have had many different jobs where the pay has
been good and the work has been repetitive and monotonous. This is not a
problem for me. I am good at learning anything. I just need the right
incentive. In my case, this incentive is money.
My script
According to Dan Pink’s and his research on motivations, he talks about scientific studies
and the famous formula: if rewards you get more than you want. If you punish, you get less
than you want. At a technology institute in London, students were giving them challenges to
encourage their redemption. Through three levels of rewards. Low, medium and high. Was
always.
Rewarded the best and they ignored the one whit the lowest yield the more you paid, the
better the redemption. But the greater reward was leading them to poor performance.
Studies by economist were very strange. If they did not pay people enough, people were not
motivated. It was said that the best use money was a motivator.
To conclude my personal opinion is, that money was and is a motivation for most of the
people.
