Improving student’s writing skill by using instagram

My research problem:

The students have less interest writing in paper or book and it makes student less practice writing
in English. Writing on paper or book also makes student does not have challenge in writing,
because their mindset, what they write just will be check by their teacher. Writing on paper or
book does not establish self-esteem. It because student think that no one will check their work
unless their teacher and if they post their work on instagram, they will think that their work will
be seen by worldwide or their follower and it help to establish self-esteem.

Theoretical Review

1. According to (Anggraeni, 2017) instagram is social network platform that usually use to
share people’ idea, though, and personal information by writing caption, post photo and
video.

Empirical Review

1. Student have difficulty writing text correctly because they low of interest in writing, less
practice, difficulty in getting ideas, low grammar mastery, and low vocabulary. To solve
those problems, using Instagram is best way to produce correct text because the students
often produce many texts on social media. They can freely express their ideas
accompanied by pictures via the social media. They do it for fun without being asked.
The fact that almost all of them have their own smart phones makes them easily express
their ideas through the social media(Zidny & Suharso, 2014).
2. Instagram is a great tool that makes the learning process unique, interesting, and
insightful (Kirst : 2016).
3. Instagram is a tool that can make student share student’ idea and opinion on some topic
and also a tool that can make student participate in learning group in which student
comment each other on their caption, photo and video(Handayani & Pd, 2016).
