LSJFI’s 16th Commencement Exercises


April 6, 2019

I. INTRODUCTION:
Sir Eddie: Graduation day is always a day of rejoicing for it marks the conclusion of an
educational journey and the commencement of another more uncertain and more
difficult part of man’s quest for a better life and future.
Ma’am April: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the 16th Commencement Exercises,
College Department of the Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Inc. with the theme: “Education for
Global Peace, Quality Life, and Legacy.”

II. PROCESSIONAL:
Sir Eddie: Friends, Ladies and Gentlemen, Let us all welcome:
The candidates for graduation with the degree of BACHELOR IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION. Leading
them are the graduates who excel in their academic endeavors, the honor students with their
proud parents.

Ma’am April: Coming in are the candidates for graduation with the degree of BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE EDUCATION.

Sir Eddie: BACHELOR OF ARTS IN POLITICAL SCIENCE

Ma’am April: BACHELOR IN SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN ENGLISH

Ma’am April: Ladies and gentlemen, let us also welcome, distinguished guest, Hon. Jezebel A. Espinosa,
MCTC Judge at San Fernando-Batuan, Masbate

Sir Eddie: Next in line, the school’s policymakers, the members of the BOARD OF TRUSTEES. (Cite

Sir Eddie: Next in line, are the pillars of this institution, the competent instructors of Liceo de San Jacinto
Foundation Incorporated led by ________________________________________________.

IV. Ma’am April: Please remain standing for the invocation to be led by Mrs. Monina S. Moya, LSJFI Vice
President to be followed by the singing of the National Anthem with 2019 GBO Business
Manager, Ms. Madil A. Lique conducting.
V. LSJFI HYMN:

Sir Eddie: Ladies and gentlemen, let us now witness the graduating class as they render the LSJFI HYMN.

VI. WELCOME ADDRESS:


Sir Eddie: That was heartwarming, thank you.
At this point, we shall now set the tone for today’s event through a Welcome Address to be
given by Atty. Junil D. Bailon, LSFJI Student/Legal Affairs Consultant/Steering Committee
Chairman/Trustee.

Thank you again sir for such an uplifting Welcome Address, a good message to start this
momentous event.

VII. SYMBOLIC PINNING OF CORSAGE TO THE PARENTS:


Ma’am April: As a gesture of gratitude, let us now witness the symbolic pinning of corsage by the
Candidates for Degree Courses to their parents.

Adlib: A corsage is more than just a fashion accessory that compliments an attire. It represents
love, beauty and strength that we could give to the ones we love the most----our
dearest parents.

Your hearts will always be in gratitude to your families. To your parents who sacrificed
everything for you, for supporting your needs-----academically, emotionally, and
financially and for inspiring you to be strong amidst all your battles in life.

It’s a great thing to extend your never-ending gratitude and to proudly dedicate this
honor to your beloved parents!

VIII. IMPOSITION OF HOODS TO THE CANDIDATES OF GRADUATION:

Sir Eddie: At this juncture, may we call on the Candidates for Degree Courses to come forward
for the Imposition of Hoods on them. May we request the parents or guardians to do the honor
of imposing the hoods and caps on their children.

Chairman for the presentation of Candidates for graduation with the degree of

 Mr. Otelo A. Dineros, II----Dean, College of Criminal Justice Education for BACHELOR OF
SCIENCE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE EDUCATION; and

X. CONFERMENT OF GRADUATES:

Ma’am April: At this juncture, may we request our LSJFI President, DR. PENELOPE B.BAGOBE, our
College of Education Dean, to please come forward for the conferment of graduates to be
followed by her message.

Let us give the graduates a round of applause. May I also take this opportunity to
congratulate you our dear parents for your unstinting cooperation and support to your

XI. DISTRIBUTION OF DIPLOMA:

Sir Eddie: Dear graduates the moment you have been waiting for has finally come. The fruit of
your toil will finally be reaped. You will now be receiving the symbol of your accomplishment,
your diploma.

May I request our Commencement Speaker together with our President, Vice-President,
Deans, Trustees to congratulate our graduates and our school registrar to assist in the
distribution of diplomas.

XII. DISTRIBUTION OF SPECIAL/ACADEMIC AWARDS

Sir Eddie: We are indeed very proud to have students who consistently excelled in academics
throughout their years of stay in the college. Ladies and gentlemen, let us recognize those
students ordinary things extraordinary well.

May we request LSJFI President Dr. Penelope B. Bagobe OP, our College of Education
Dean to please step forward for the distribution of Co-curricular and Academic Awards.

We would also like to request our Commencement Speaker together with our President,
Vice-President, Deans, Trustees to congratulate our special and academic awardees and our
school registrar to assist in the awarding ceremonies.
May we request the parents or guardians or advisers to accompany the awardees and
to give the award to their children.
CUM LAUDE

Ma’am April: The student who is conferred CUM LAUDE academic honors is one whose general
weighted average is 1.70-1.51, with no grade lower than 2.50 in any academic
subject. Moreover, he/she must have shown exemplary conduct indicative of
strong moral values. He/she will therefore receive the Academic Excellence
Award----a recognition given by the institution to students who have made an
exemplary performance in the academic field.
This year’s cum laude awardee/s and Academic Excellence Awardee/s is / are:

BSED Math Major student, Ms. Joan J. Principe. She is also an OUTSTANDING PRE-SERVICE
TEACHER AWARDEE. This award is given to the student who has made valuable performance
during their practicum, the application of all the theories into practice and a preparation of
becoming the face of the 21st Century Teacher.
Likewise from the BSED department, Ms. Eva R. Lignes, Cum laude, is also an Academic
Excellence awardee. She will also be receiving the OUTSTANDING PRE-SERVICE TEACHER
AWARD which is awarded to a BSED graduate who has excelled in practice teaching.

Salutation.

Sir Eddie: To have the distinct privilege to introduce the GUEST SPEAKER, may I call on one of
competent the faculty members, Mrs. Jenaflor Ll. Letada to be followed by the
commencement address of the guest speaker

XVI. PLEDGE OF LOYALTY/ALUMNI OATH

Ma’am April: Thank you Hon. Jezebel A. Espinosa for that meaningful and insightful speech. It
is with great merit that you joined us today for another uplifting message.

And now, to lead the class in their Pledge of Loyalty & Alumni Oath, may I call on Ms.
Eva R. Lignes, an Academic Excellence Awardee.

XVII. GRADUATION SONG

Sir Eddie: Music is the expression of the soul. It moves emotions and feels with the movement
of time. Through a song that emphasizes success is about learning to fight for survival.
With a round of applause, let us welcome the graduates for their graduation song.

XX. RECESSIONAL MARCH

Ma’am April: The closing hour has finally arrived. Tomorrow, new challenges and opportunities
await our graduates that will further test their mettle as improving individuals. As they continue
with their journey, may they look back to this stage in their life with fondness and pride.
