1. Recount Text
Recount text is a kinds text with the purpose to tellhappening or action that
happened in the past
Recount is often used in diary, personal letter, history, biography and
experience.
2. Generic structure
a. Orientetion : Introducing the participants, place and time
b. Events : Describing series of event that happened in the past
c. Reorientation : It is optional. Stating personal comment of the writer
to the story
3. Language Feature of Recount Text
a. Introducing personal participant; I, my group, etc

d. Using action verb; look, go, change, etc

At The Zoo
On Sunday, my friend and I to the zoo. First, we went to see the monkey cage.
The monkeys were eating bananas. They threw the banana skins on the floor. One
little monkey looked at us. It hid behind his mother. I did not see the monkey’s
father until suddenly it appeared slowly from behind a tree.
Then, we went to the bear cage. The bears not so shy. One huge male bear
walked towards the food. We could see that bear was starving by the way it
finished the food.
On the way out, we saw some ducks walk slowly from their pond towards
some food. They ate the food and returned to the water.

Up the Mountain We Go
Last month, my family took a camping trip to the mountains. We went hiking
and bicycling every morning.
At night, we usually built a fire. I had to keep the fire burning. We could sit
around it and sing until midnight. One night, while my brother was telling us a ghost
story, we heard storage sound. We went out to see what it was. We saw a wild bear
eating our food supplies. The boar ran away and disappeared into the wood. We
laughed when we saw that the boar was afraid of us.
On the last day, a bad thing happened. My brother, Dani, tripped on a hidden
log and hurt his foot. We took him to the nearest hospital. The doctor said that the
injury was not too bad. He just had to go the doctor for more therapy in a couple of
days. We went home happily.
