Municipality of La Paz, is a 5th class municipality in the province of Leyte.

It was named La Paz in

honor of their patroness Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buen Viaje. In 1903, La Paz was made a barrio
of Burauen. But with the help of provincioal eladers La Paz was declared as a municipality in 1918.It
is politically subdivided into 35 barangays.

Here are the tourism assets of La Paz. So from their municipal hall, it would take ___ minute tricycle
ride going to brgy hall of Brgy. Bocawon, where there are brgy. Officials designated to accompany
the tourists in going to Calabato Hot Spring. Since the construction of the road is on going, tourists
are advised to walk about 20 minutes for it lies deep within the quiet town of La Paz. You’ll never get
tired of walking since the tourism officers will entertain you of stories about La Paz, until you’ll reach
your destination. You’ll see a large squash-shaped stone to where it got its name. The reddish
yellowish – reddish color of the stone is because of the sulphur beneath it. The hot spring makes it
perfect for keeping your skin elastic, beautiful, and young looking. And what’s amazing here
because on its right side, ia cold spring coming from a fall to which the municipality is still
developing.

Also, a 15 minute tricycle ride from the town proper will lead you to a La Conchita Resort. It is
located at Brgy. Mag – Aso, La Paz, Leyte. It does not just offers a refreshing water but at the same
time gives an awesome feel of nature’s beauty which excites incoming guests and visitors.

Another resort located in La Paz, is Lakabay - Harapitan Resort which was just built last January 11,
2017.

They celebrated their fiesta on 27th day of April in honor of Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buen Viaje..
Thus, they have the Viajedores Festival.

Tabon – tabon on the other hand, is also a 5th class municipality. It is politically subdivided into 16
barangays. The designated officer to accompany us told us that they do not have tourism assets
aside from what they are proud of, their church of St. Anthony De Padua Parish founded on year
1918, wherein inside their church, you can find a first class relic of St. Anthony De Padua.
