Why do we have summer solstice?

In the summer, days fell longer because the Sun rises earlier in the morning and sets later at
night.

When the north pole of the Earth is tilted toward the sun, people in the Northern Hemisphere
receive more sunlight.

The day the Earth’s North Pole is tilted closest to the sun is called summer solstice.

So between March and September, Earth’s Northern Hemisphere gets more exposure to direct
sunlight over the course the course of a day.
The rest of the year, Southern Hemisphere gets more and will have summer Solstice when
people in the Northern Hemisphere have Winter Solstice.

This is what create seasons.

In the Northern Hemisphere, peak sunlight usually occurs on June 20, 21 or 22 of any given
year.

By contrast the Southern Hemisphere reaches peak sunlight on December 21, 22 or 23.
