O n behalf of our staff, management and Board of Port Denarau Marina it is my pleasure
to welcome you to our beautiful Fijian shores and of course to Port Denarau Marina.
Purchased by the current owners in 1999; from humble beginnings we have transformed
our marina into a destination in its own right. Our facilities are open 365 days of the year as
the hub of maritime tourism in Fiji. The commercial arm facilitates the movement of over
900,000 people per annum with over 28,000 vessel movements in total. We are a busy place
but have tried to separate the commercial arm from our visiting cruising vessels. I mention
this however to request that you are aware of how busy we are and take the necessary
precautions when transiting in and out of the marina.
We appreciate that you have a choice of marinas to stay in and we thank you for choosing
Port Denarau Marina. We welcome your comments and feedback as we continue to expand
our service offerings ensuring that they are in line with your requirements and expectations.

This welcome booklet has been produced to assist you with your stay at the marina, highlighting both what we offer and where you
will find essential services around the Nadi area. It is our hope that this information will allow you to settle into the life of Denarau

hours are 0800 to 1800, 7 days a week with our security team on hand outside of normal office hours. Whilst you are our guest, we

bakery at the end of the dock and Nadi and Namaka only a
short bus or taxi ride away.
Port Denarau Marina is walking distance to several
international hotels, offering a vast array of recreational
pursuits including an international 18-hole golf course – not to
mention, being part of the largest retail/restaurant complex in
the Nadi area.
Port Denarau is ideally positioned to provide a stopover for

Boating is crucial to both transportation and
tourism and continues to increase in popularity,
making it vital that boaties understand the
potential impact they can have on our unique
marine environment, and are environmentally
friendly in the way they operate and maintain
their vessels.
Port Denarau Marina was the first marina in the
South Pacific to be accredited Level 3 Clean
Marina and Fish Friendly status by Marina
Industries Association (MIA).
As a boat owner or operator, you want to enjoy
healthy, safe and pristine waters. Pollutants
can enter the ocean from a wide range of
sources, including chemical, oil, fuel, and
sewage discharges from both commercial and
recreational boats. Additionally, dirty boat hulls
have the potential to carry and spread often
harmful marine pest species.
The marina has a Best Management Practices
booklet which contains information on the
spreading of marine pests, how to keep
hitchhiking pests off your boat, emergency
planning, petroleum control, sewage and
gray water, storm water management,
waste containment and disposal and boater
education.
You can download our Best Management
Practices from our website or request for a
copy from the Marina Office and become an
active steward of our marine environment by
implementing these simple practices.
By adopting the simple clean boating habits
outlined within the booklet, you can help
improve fish habitat and species protection
within the marina and protect our oceans for

MAGNIFICENT FIJI
A true tropical paradise of 333 islands, with thriving
marine life and secluded beaches backed by pristine
jungle, Fiji is a South Pacific idyll. From volcanic hot
springs and untouched coral reefs, to cascading
waterfalls and mud baths, nature here is wondrous.
From deserted beaches to teeming reefs, explore
breathtaking Fiji on a 7-day cruising vacation.
1. MAMANUCA ISLANDS
Depart from Port Denarau Marina with a short, 1.5-hour cruise
southwest to the Mamanuca Islands, where you spend the day
exploring — the snorkeling here is particularly excellent due
to an abundance of soft corals and tropical fish. You will spend
the night anchored in Musket Cove, near the stunning Musket
Cove Resort.
2. NAVADRA & VANUA
After breakfast you can sail three hours northwest towards
Navadra and Vanua. These islands have beautiful beaches
and great snorkelling on their garden reefs. The beach can be
accessed by tender from mid to high tide, and paddle boards
or kayaks at low tide. If weather permits, you can anchor here
for the night or sail one hour north for Waya Island and anchor
at Yalobi Bay, which is more protected.
3. NAVITI ISLAND
Head north for 1.5 hours to Cuvu Bay on the southern end of
Naviti Island, which offers a rare chance to swim with manta
rays. If you visit, donations of schoolbooks and clothes are
much appreciated. Continue two hours north to the Blue
Lagoon near Nanuya Levu and Matacawa island.

4. INSIDE THE BLUE LAGOON
Blue Lagoon was the location of the 1980s movie by the
same name, starring Brooke Shields. The snorkeling here is
breathtaking and the beaches are pristine. You can anchor
here for the night or move to nearby Sawa-i-lau Island, which
is famous for its underwater caves; you will want to add this
to your diving bucket list. The lagoon has some excellent
snorkeling spots and the shell markets are worth a visit, too.
5. YASAWA-I-RA
Sail two hours north to Yasawa-i-Ra, which has one of Fiji’s
best beaches, Champagne Beach – a crescent of powdery
white sand, an ideal spot for a barbecue. The snorkelling here
is terrific, too. In the evening you can go ashore to watch a
meke (a traditional Fijian dance) and kava ceremony, where it
is customary to give a gift of yaqona (kava root) to the head of
the village.
6 & 7. SOUTH TO PORT
DENARAU MARINA
For the last two days of the trip head south to return to Port
Denarau Marina. Along the way you can revisit a favourite
spot or explore new coves and bays such as the beautiful
Somosomo Bay on the north of Naviti Island, or Paradise Cove
in the south. Both locations are within about three hours of
cruising.
Back at Port Denarau Marina you can provision and make
another itinerary to explore the remainder of the 300+ islands
breathtaking Fiji has to offer; we know that 7 days is far too
short not to fall in love with this beautiful place over and over
again!
