PSU BAYAMBANG --- Social Sciences Department launched their United Nations Month celebration,

October 23-25 at the Main Building with the theme "PEACE FOR EVERYONE".

The celebration will always be remarkable as the year wherein the Social Sciences Department launched
their three-day annual event after they missed last year's kick-off.

Through the creative and participative leadership style of Dr. Clarence D. Verceles, SSD has synergized
the efforts, initiative, skills, and talents of its faculty and personnel for making this event possible.

Without a doubt, the parade of nations was attended by hundreds of students that were amazed at
Social Studies students' colorful, creative and elegant national costumes inspired by different countries
around the globe.

This year's winner for best in national costume, Lea Beltran is blissful of the result. "I did not expect that
because a lot of us do really have a nice costume. I'm so surprised, but I'm extremely happy at the same
time because they appreciated what I did,” she shared.

During the celebration, special contest and activities like quiz-bee, essay writing, poster-making raffle
draw, bingo, and team building was held to maintain the students' eminence in literary excellence,
technical prowess and dignified on its aim of nurturing nation builders.

The Send-Off Ceremony that was held on October 10 at the Social Hall Building marks excitement for
Practice Teachers as they are set to deploy in various schools near PSUBC.

Briefing for Off-Campus Teaching protocols is discussed thoroughly to assure the welfare of the
university and practice teachers as well.

During the ceremony, the 6th batch of SEA Teachers shared their experiences. One of them is Ms. Julie
Ann A. Sison, BSE SEA Teacher in Thailand. "We can't choose whom we want to teach, so we need to be
flexible to conquer all the barriers we might encounter. One of the problems I encounter during my
practice teaching in Thailand is the language barrier but being flexible is always a key, and as a teacher,
we should communicate with a heart always. Suso lang ng suso!" she shared.

As such, the Campus Executive Director, Dr. Roy C. Ferrer is glad to give his warmest greeting to all the
practice teachers during the Send-Off Ceremony. "I'm so happy because the PSUBC is going to deploy
again competent practice teachers. I also want to congratulate everybody, konting tiis na lang you will
all open a new chapter in your life" he said.
