UTAR Students’ Culture

1. Form a team of FOUR (4) OR FIVE (5) members within your own tutorial group. Conduct
interpersonal communication observation based on University Tunku Abdul Rahman
(UTAR) Students’ Culture. The objective is to observe the process of learning cultural
practices. Write a maximum of 10 pages report about your experiment.

The report should include:

1. CULTURAL PRACTICES (Select any ONE (1))


For example, dress code, hang out spots, food, language, studying, sports, time
management and etc.
2. ENCULTURATION and ACCULTURATION
Describe the selected cultural practice based on enculturation and acculturation.
3. OBSERVATION
Conduct the observation of cultural practices among other students but every group
member must be present during the process. The situation and location in which the
observation will be carried out are flexible however it must involve UTAR students. Video
record your observation process and burn into a CD to be submitted together with your
report. (The video has no specific format as it is only a recorded proof of your observation).
You must observe their reactions and responses which reflects acculturation.
