bought your Ingredients. Ready? Now let’s get straight on with cooking. First, you peel the apples and cut
them into slices. Ok, don’t forget to take to(x) middle out of apple. Now put the sliced apples in the a pan
and cook them with some of the sugar. And in about ten minutes, it they should be nice and soft. Right,
now mix blackberries and apples together, make sure it has about half and half, put them into bottom of
the baking dish. That’s fine, now the next thing to do is rub the flour and butter together with your fingers,
until it’s in tiny pieces, like breakcrum breadcrumbs, then add the sugar. When it’s ready, put the crumble
mixture on top of the fruit, and baking all of them bake it all in the oven for thirty minutes.

TRACK 15:

Hello everyone, welcome to University, I hope you settling in and beginning to find your way around. I
know a lot of soon students find it hard to adapt to the food. So I thought I’d tell you about to a couples
of popular English meals that …. My here is you might hear about?. Well, actually, you may …. Heard …….
Might’ve heard of the first one already, it’s really popular. It’s fish and cheap chips. Fish and cheap chips
or …. And …. Fast are fried in deep fat, so it’s actually very greasy And not at all the heathy. But it’s still
very popular. It’s specially on Friday night. That’s when a lot of people get the their fish and cheep chips
from the fish and cheep chips shop, and take come home to week them home to eat. Another disional
traditional meals, which is definitely heathier, is Sunday lunch. In England, Sunday lunch is usually some
kind the roast meats with vegetables. To disionally Traditionally, families have Sunday lunch at home, but
these days, quite a lot of families have Sunday lunch in the restaurant.
TRACK 16:

Good afternoon, many people in the western world eat wrong foods, and they eat far to too much of it.
So the topic of my lecture today is heathy eating. I’ll divide my talk about into 3 parts, firstly I’m going to
define what I mean heathy eating, after that, I’ll go on to talk about why people don’t eat properly, and
then I’ll finish my lecture with some ideas for improving this situation. Right, so what do I mean by the
healthy eating, well, some people might think it means eating a lot of meats. Of course, vegetarians won’t
wouldn’t agree with this, they think eating meat is very unhealthy. Are Other the people think that eating
a lot of cabbages is good for you or a lot of salad. Well naturally, cabbage, salad, and meat can all be part
of heathy eating, but for me, heathy eating means two things, one is eating a balanced diet, and the other
is eating a the right amount of foods. And in my opinion, a balanced diet means eating variety of foods,
including meats, vegetables, fruit, cereals and dairy foods. Obviously, the amount of food we should eat
is more difficult to decide, is depends a lot on how active we are.

TRACK 17:

Now on to my next point, why are do so many people eat badly? Well let’s look first, to at having a
balanced diet, to have a balanced diet, you have to plan your meals in advance, and then buy the right
foods, and then take time to cook it properly. But these days, people are busy working but that they don’t
have time to go shopping, so they hand end up by … buying fast food a at the last minutes. And other
another reason people don’t eat well Nowaday is that it;s actually cheaper to buy food already prepared
in the backage packet, so people who haven’t got much money will buy backage packet food rather than
cook something fresh. And the finally reason people don’t eat well is that they don’t know how to. In my
opinion, schools don’t do nearly enough educate their peoples pupils in heathy eating habits.

TRACK 18:

And now to my third and last point, what can we do to solve this the problem? Well, I think it be solved
by 3 main groups: family families, schools and the government. To stop start it, parents should make sure
their children have a heathy diet. Secondly, a lot of schools have sale self- service machines, where their
pupils come can buy soft drinks, crisps, sweets and chocolates. I think schools should change what they
sell in these machines. Another thing schools can do is make sure the food they serve in their canteens,
is fresh and well balanced. And the to finish, I’ll briefly main mention two of the measures I think the
government should take to encourage heathy eating. One is the to limit advertising unhealthy food, and
the other is just spend more money on education educating the public about the benefits of heathy diet.
In my next lecture, I’ll going to more details about….

TRACK 21:

- Ok, everyone, the first thing that we have to decide is our topic, I mean what exactly are we gonna
talk about? We know the Corsy course is Art or history, and the subject is a Italian painting but
that’s still too bit big, we have to choose a particular topic. What do you think, Mandy?
- I think we should consentract concentrate on a to the single painter
- But on the other hand, if we discuss more ….. want or …. than one artist, it’s‘ll a little be easier to
make comparisons and show the differences between them.
- That’s a good idea Edward. It’s a little ‘ll given us smart more to discuss.
- Right, so the next thing is to decide which artists to look at? I think we should definitely include
Michealangelo, you know he painted the ceiling Of 16 ….. rooms the Sistine Chapel in Rome, he’s
very famous.
- And what’s about Lianna Devenchi Leonardo Da Vinci, They were both great painters painted.
What do you think Bath?
- There’re ok, I suppose. But don’t you think everyone else will choose them? How about Bot
Charlie Botticelli? His painting is very different from the other two?
- I agree with Bath, why don’t we have Michealangelo and Botticelli?
- I’m happy with that, everyone else is ok with this it?

TRACK 22:

- Right guys, let’s have a look at what we were ‘re going to put in the slides. The first slide, we’re
going to be introduction, isn’t it? So I guess it should have a title, how about Michealangelo and
Botticelli:, and a comparison?
- Yeah! So we’ve got the title, don’t you think we should make a little list pull it of bullet Points free
…. For each of the Slides in presentation.
- Oh yes! Definitely, How many slides do we have to do?
- Well, the presentation’s 10 minutes long, so we should probably have a maximum of 6 slides.
Remember that Beth’s already got 2 slides about Botticelli.
- Well, why don’t we do 2 slides each. That’s aBA ‘d be eight and including the introduction and the
conclusion.
- That’s all very sounds fair enough, Let do that. So who’s going to do the rest of the slides?
- I can start at off with introduction, and then, I can could do the conclusion and the summary of
at the end. What do you think?
- Right! I’d like to talk about Michealangelo’s paintings, I don’t’ve done quite to a lot of Reading
about them.
- Fine, so I can could do a couple of slides showing how Michealangelo and Botticelli or are similar
and how their they’re difference.

TRACK 23:

- We want a the presentation to look at as if it’s been made by the a team, don’t the art work we?
Edward?, I think we should have a one design for all slides, give a gree do you agree?
- Oh yes, of course! We don’t wanna difference carle free slides different colour for each slide,
show which shall we design a slide now of for the rest of the group, do you to use?
- Yes! Let’s do that. Let’s have a look. This slide has the program icon on the title box, shall we keep
it there?
- No, I don’t think so. It hasn’t got anything do to the presentation, let take that Off.
- Fine, and I think we should keep the blue bullet point, they mark match a the light blue title box.
What do you think about put in emeger putting images in each slide?
- Oh! Absolutely, I think we should put at least one image In on each slide.
- Good, or great we’re agree then, Let’s sound send this slide to the others, shall we?

TRACK 24:

-
- Ok everyone, I’ve put all at our slides together, so we can see if where we’re happy with the
presentation? I think we need to check that we all agree with the order. That’s there’s nothing to
decide about my slides, the introduction and the conclusion. Obviously, one of my slide cause
goes at the beginning, anh the other one at the end. Edward’s slide comparing to two artists, what
will have to go after Beth’s and Mandy’s. What we need to decide is which are artist should go
first: Michealangelo or Botticelli?
- Well, Michealangelo is more famous than Botticelli, as me isn’t he?, I mean everyone’s heard of
him, maybe he should go first. What do you think Beth?
- Oh, i’m not sure that just been being famous as a good reason to put him first.
- Ok, so isn’t it sensible to put the artist who was born earlier at first. Who what’s was that? When
was Michealangelo born?
- In 1475
- And Botticelli?
- In 1445
- So let’s put Botticelli first, and follow with Michealangelo.

TRACK 25:

- Good morning everyone, so you’re going to tell me about your presentation. First of all, what’s
your topic? Do did you say do you’re you were going to talk about the user uses of mobile phones?
- Ah, it’s not …. Exactly, what…. See … I’m We’re actually going to explain the dangerous dangers
of using mobile phones.
- Ah, Ok, that sounds interesting, what do you going to discuss exactly?
- Well, we’ve planned advice … to divide the presentation into 3 sections, we’ll have an introduction
explaining why we think it’s important to understand the dimes of most dangers of mobiles, then
on the second slide, we’ll have a list of the different types of danger, and then on the last slide,
we’re going to suggest ways of staying out of danger when you use the mobile.
- Yes, we want to start by tell… telling the audience that’s using the a mobile full phone can be
dangerous and then going in to go into more detail in the next part.
- Ok, but before you talk about the dangerous dangers of mobile phones, I think we should mention
the advantages, you could put that in your introduction, its balances up the Argument to a bit.
- Oh yes, I see that what you mean. Right we’ll do that.

TRACK 26:

- So shall we have a look at your presentation, do you bring it with you?

- I could …. ‘ve got it here on a memory stick Instead. Can we show you on your computer?
- Yes, that’s fine, Let have a look. Hm… right, as you see, you’re going to add the advantages of
using mobile phones to the first slide. Good, who’s going to explain the second slide with all the
dangers?
- That’s me, do you think are ….. I’ve got enough detail?
- Yes, I think that’s there’s plenty of information. But I think it’s all of bit miss stop a bit mixed up
at the Moment. I mean you’ve got dangers like getting headaches and in the same list that are as
having correct car accidents, and been …. Being robbed in the Streets, there are all different types
of dangers …. Days, aren’t they?. I think you should divide them into groups, maybe on the …..
under separate of titles like heath, accidents and security.
- Oh, right, yes thank you, that’s ‘ll all my … make it much clearer to the audience. Hm ok.
- Now, in the third slide, you can put your suggestion for the staying ways away from each of for
me …. These days just on sever of dangers under separate titles.

TRACK 27:

- Have you got any of the other questions?

- Hm yes, the presentation should be for 10 minutes, is that right?
- Yes, but 10 minutes in total, including 3 minutes for questions, so you’re ‘ll only talk for 7 minutes
- That’s only 2 minutes each. We’re going to won’t be able to say much in that time, at all.
- That’s why you have to plan what you’re going to say carefully and make sure you only include
the most important information. For instance, you won’t that have time to give it examples, but
you could put some images on your slides to that show examples without spending time to talking
about them.
- Hey, that’s a good idea. And the audience can look at them while we talk
- And in other another thing, make sure all the slides have a same style. You should get together
and agree on one style for the whole presentation.
- Ok, we’ll do that too. Thanks for a lot of for your help.

- No, I haven’t. Where is it?
- It’s on the ground floor, you know, you can have bread without actually living leaving on the
library. It’s really great to meet friends there
- Yeah, That’s an excellent idea, and it means you’ve got somewhere to chart chat without of
setting upsetting People who want to study. I can’t concentrate when other people are talking. I
usually go up share upstairs to work in the silence zone, on the first fourth floor.
- Oh, do you? Is it difficult to study at home, than then? Where do you live?
- I’m living in the hor hall of resident, on campus
- Alright, it’ s much be stuff tough trying trend to study in your room.
- Yeah, it’s pretty noi easy noisy, especially at weekends. Are you living on campus too?
- Yes, I’m on campus, but there are only 4 people on our house, so I it tends to be a big quitter
quieter, it’s at the end of footpath, not far from the Sports Center.
- Oh right, I know where you mean, I play football on the beach pitch next to the Sports Center, I
spend quite a lot of time are on around there.

TRACK 40:

- Are you new? I haven’t see seen your round before

- Hi, ya, I’ve just arrived, to tell you the true truth, I’m a bit lot lost, I saw on the university website
that there are a lots of the different foods out let’s outlets on campus, but I don’t know where to
find them.
- Oh, no problem, I can tell you all about them, there’s really a lot of are lots of places to eat on
Campus, to start with, there’s the old colleague college dinning room, you can heard have hot
milks meals three times a day, that there. If you want to start the day with the hot breakfast,
that’s a place to go.
- Ok, so where about is that?
- It’s next to the theater, just between the bus stop and the shops, but if you’re more into the fast
foods, like burgers or Chinese stuck stir-fry, or fry fried chicken, there’s in a huge fast food all hall
in the middle of the campus.
- Is that the big building between the student’s union building and the shops?
- Yeah that’s right, it’s a great place to meet your friends. It’s also there’s always music and plenty
of chart chat.
- Sounds that like my kind of place
- But if you just want … to a quiet place to have a coffee and a pastry Street, this’s there’s a snack
bar by the lake, it has a wi-fi and internet coffee. And take you off it has a spectacular view over
the lake
- Well, thank you very much, Can I invite you….

TRACK 41:

- Excuse me Lieli, could you help me? You know we’ve got an essay to write about eating customs
across the word.
- Yes, we ‘ve have to bought borrow some books, aren’t don’t we?
- Yes, but I’ve missed the library training, do you think you could show me how to find the books
and how to take them out?
- Sure, no problem, Shall I tell you about different parts of the library first?
- Oh yes, thank you very much.
- Ok then, let’s look at the plan of the library, here, you can see the main door on the north side at
that leads into the lobby. In the middle of the building, there’s a big opened PC zone, the lift and
stairs On stairs are on the left are you going as you go in. And on the other side of the building,
there’s a library coffee. That part of the library is pretty sociable. It’s a good place to study with
friends.
- I’d really prefer to study alone. Is there anywhere in the library I can go?
- If you like studying in the quiet place, it’s better to go upstairs, to the silence zone. Are as you
come up out of the lift towards up the stairs, you’ll see a section on your right, facing north with
which is closing door closed off, that’s a silence zone. On the other side, facing south, are the
book show bookshelves with all the cookbooks and all…

TRACK 42:

- Can you show me how to find out book?

- Well, The library’s very big, and the books on Some food could be on the cook under cookery, or
they could be in the history, or even in the entertainment. So the first thing to do is to look at
opening the book up in the online catalogue.
- Where do I do that?
- It’s easy, there’re a lot of computers in the library for that.
- Ok, I see
- Right, you look up the title first, when you’ve find the book, you’ll see how that it has a clock
smart next to it. The clock smart is 1 or 2 letter and a number, make a note of the The clock class
mark smart. Then look at the opening it up on the plan of the library, the plan shows you exactly
what section of the library The books are actually captain kept in.

TRACK 43:

- Thank you very much Lily, so how do I borrow a book?

- That’s simple too, when you go the library, you have to take a your student ID card. When you
want to borrow book, you take it downstairs to scanner. Then, scan your ID Card first, next open
the book and slide it under the scanner until it makes the a sound, a short Beep. Another you
should And that’s all you have to do. Oh sorry I forgot, at the end of the system brings prints out
the Ticket, it’s a good idea to keep it for while, just in case you have a the problem with you ….
Your loan.

TRACK 44:

And now for some local News, when the receptionist arrived at the goodmead primary school on
Monday, she found that Someone had break broken into in the office, and stolen several laptops, so she
called the police. They came to look at the crime scene straight away and advised her to make sure she
locked up The office every evening in future, they also suggested that she should watch out for any
stranger nearby neighbor. Two days later, the police called to say that they had caught the thieves and
arrested them. They said they would take them to court in the next few days.

TRACK 46:

Good moring, thank you for inviting me for to talk to you today, the light I like speaking to students,
especially when there’s a chance of making their lives a bit safe. Just to start, does anyone know
what a most common crimes is? Now, well, theft is the most common crime in the UK, there’re
very of various kinds of theft. For instance, robbery, when I a thief takes something away from
someone personally, like when you’re walking in the street and someone grabs your handbag Or
your mobile and Runs away. That’s robbery. Another form of theft Is burglary, when I a thief
breaks into your house and steals your property.

Ok now I’d like to go on to talk about safety on holiday. You probably know that when you’re on holiday
abroad, you’re in much more dangerous of being robbed, this is because you probably don’t know
the country’s very well. For example, you might not really like realize that your….’re in a
Dangerous at area. One of thing you can do to protect yourself is to keep your passport and money
safe in the hotel, you can always go packing back and get them if you need them, another thing
you can do is take in all an old mobile with you on holiday, these new smartphones are very
popular with thieves all over the world, it’s Safer just to take an old one.

TRACK 47:

Hello everyone, I’m jenefer and I joint work for campus security. Welcome to this very short talk
about emergency phone numbers. To start with, we you need to know the emergency phone numbers
aren’t on the same in every country. As we brighten we’re in England at the moment, it’s important
to know that emergency number is 000 999, so you’ll need to remember this. Those of you who’ve
hold been to the United States, We will know that the emergency number is 911, one number
different. But in is Autralia, the emergency number is completely different, it is 000.

In Germany, the emergency number is the same as the rest of Euroupe, that’s 00112.And in case
anyone’s thinking of going on in holiday in India Soma this summer, it is useful to Know that the
emergency number there is 100.

TRACK 48:

Good morning, I’m here today to give a few tips about security on campus. We’re not just here to prevent
crime, but to make sure you’re safe 24 hours a day.

One of the services we provide for the students to live on campus is the walk home with you If you need
to cross the campus late at night. I mean, we all know the hall of resident a quite a long way from the
library, don’t we? So, for example, if you’ve been studying in the library until late and you’re nervous
about going home alone, all you have to do is a ring campus security on 3333, and we’ll send someone to
make sure your safe, ok?

By the way, another important thing to remember is the campus emergency number, we all know the
national emergency number in the UK is 999. But When you’re on campus, and there’s an Emergency,
you should call 3333, if you call 3333, you’re ‘ll get through to our own staff Right here on campus, they
can react quickly and get to you faster than national services.

TRACK 49:

It’s great to be here to Talk to you about staying safe on holiday. Before I came this evening, I did a little
research on which where students like to go for their holidays and hand came up with 2 different reasons:

Writing:

Cultural activities and Sports

How the youths should spend their time is a great concern for many people. Many assume that
participating in cultural activities are neseccary of youth. Besides, others believe that heathy activities are
indispensable part of young people’s life. In my opinion, both cultural and heathy activities are important
of life, so young people should mix both to improve a life quality.

Participating in cultural activities bring the advantages for heathy of the mind and spirit. The activities
such as: work of art, music, historical events not only help to nurture the mind, but also increase
accessibility of young to different cultures, improve knowledge as well as vision.
If young people get spiritual meals from cultural activities, the sports will give them physical health. People
who do regularly exercises will possess stronger body and they are able to enjoy other activities, including
cultural activities. In addition, heathy activities are also way to get the body full of energy.

All things are considered, I believe that the youth should participate in sports in line with the participation
in cultural activities to get physically and mentally healthy body.

Children should always follow their parent’s advice.

To what extend do you agree or disagree?

There’s no doubt that family plays an important in our lives. Several people think that all parent’s advice
is useful for children so they should always follow those. In my opinion, I partly agree, this view is right in
some aspects and is not right in other aspects.

It goes without saying that parents have much experience in live. With ages of children, they have yet to
conceive what is differences between right and wrong, thus they need to be helped by their parents who
is the best person to teach them about this. For example, parents teach their children how to behave
when strangers want to approach them. In addition, children have yet to have chances to experience
situations that may happen in their lives, parent’s recommendations will support their decisions.

On the other hand, sometimes following exceedingly parent’s advice may result in non-independent
children. When children grow older, they have to make decisions themselves without supports of parents.
Always following parent’s advice, children can be frightened, embarrassed and unconfident when they
encounter problems, as person is disoriented.

In my conclusion, parent’s advice is necessary for children but also they should learn how to control their
lives.
