Car Cruise Committee – Mel Rogers

Mel reported to us that the Mambo Italiano Cruise to Fairhaven
was good, nice weather, service at the restaurant was not too
great, Mel thinks we over taxed them for bringing 36 people, but
the food was good. He asked if anyone had any cruises to go on,
Fred Benninghoff will have a Christmas Light Cruise, watch for
an email and maybe next year take a train cruise again to the
Seattle Roadster Show. He also said that he thinks there should
be a fresh person as chair of this committee, so if you want to
try it contact an Officer.

Election of Officers – Before the ballot was passed out for
voting it was verified by the newly revised By-laws last year
that in order to have a vote you must be a paid member and
present. There were 75 ballots cast and the following members
are your new 2011 Officers: President – Lynn Holmes; Vice
President – Gail Jaeger; Treasurer – Jim Rairigh; and Secretary
– Joan Reeves. Installation will be at the Christmas Party in
December.
1. Bruce Biddle brought up the idea of investing in a microphone
and plug to tap into the Elks Lodge sound system so a Mic
wouldn’t have to be handed from one person to another to hear
what’s being said. It was discussed and Bruce made the motion
and Gail Jaeger seconded to have this looked into by the Board,
it was voted and approved.
2. Fred Benninghoff brought out the idea of making the Halloween
Trick n Trunk at Ace Hardware an annual official function of the
Whidbey Cruzers since participation from Cruzers and community
is great. Some discussion was mentioned, Fred made the motion,
and it was seconded by several, voted and approved.

Our Next Meeting is JANUARY 4, 2011 – MAKE SURE YOU COME!!!

For the Good of the Order

1. Harry Abbott was given the floor and brought back an old
friend from last year, A fish named Judy, which was supposed to
keep people from talking too long, it didn’t work. He did some
work on her and turned her into a Geiger counter, he got into
his white protective gear and surveyed the room for radioactive
substance and it landed on Bruce Biddle and HE got boxers to
counteract it from Harry. Then he went around again and this
time it was Judy Biddle who was affected, and she got a men’s G-
string garment, don’t know exactly what good that will do now?
Ask Harry?
2. Community Harvest Thanksgiving – Jack Stiltz asked us once
again to volunteer our time and services to help serve, deliver,
greet, etc. on Thanksgiving Day. Community Harvest is now a tax
exempt organization (501C3 legal) so they can receive donations.
Lots of turkeys have been donated. If you wish to volunteer,
contact Jack Stiltz at 360-240-1093 to sign up. They serve from
11 – 5 p.m. It was suggested that we donate, but the by-laws
tell us Cruzers may donate on an individual basis but not as a
club. Jack says they plan to serve over 5,000 people like last
year.
FROM YOUR SECRETARY – New email is jlreeve@hotmail.com.
It has been a pleasure once again to be your Secretary and your
newsletter writer. My goal for next year will be the same, to
provide as much correct and informative information to you as I
possibly can. If you have any ideas of what you might like to
see in the newsletter let me know. Thanks again.

PRESIDENT’S CORNER:
Cruzers, we are coming to the end of another year. We have been
blessed with new members and we have endured a few
tribulations. I am just thankful for the opportunity to be your
Prez and grateful that all of you were able to put up with
me. I have special thanks to all of the board members who were
able to keep me out of trouble. A couple of times I tried to
step on the clutch when the parking brake was needed. Thanks.

I look forward to all of you at our Christmas party and last

meeting of the year.

We have a great car club and I anticipate that it will only get
better. Thanks for letting me be your Prez.
