Get well cards in the month of January were sent to Harry
Gibson, recovering from his surgery, he is active, recovering
and doing very well. Sent one to Barb Mann, after her knee
replacement surgery, she is doing wonderful, still in therapy,
great range of motion, almost ready to go dancing! Larry Lohman
also had a knee replacement surgery same day as Barb, he and
Dean are in Florida, so we sent him long distance wishes and
hear he’s doing well with recovery too. Our Cruzers have had

Larry reported and showed us that the newsletter had gone from 1

today. Membership has gone from 12 to 150 today and Vice
President in 1998 was Larry Smith. Founder was Tom Roselli.
Tech Advisor – Bruce Biddle
Bruce added when he was President in 2003, Tom Roselli was
failing in health, Tom called Bruce and asked him to tell the
club to buy an old Fakkema shed/building so that the club would
have its own meeting place for $150,000? Bruce asked him where
they would get the money; he said ask everyone to donate $10,000
each. He was serious in that he wanted keep the club going.
The 46 Ford (donated by Vic Gabrenas) that is being renovated
for the PBY display is coming along very well, all the parts are
in. When it’s all together and painted a presentation will be
made to the foundation and it will be displayed next to the PBY
sitting at Bldg. 12 on the Seaplane Base. Whidbey Cruzer logo
will be put on the vehicle to show what we accomplished.

2. Whidbey Cruzer Embroidery – There are several places to get
your jackets embroidered with our Logo. They are Whidbey
Cleaners, Darlene Dando, and Bayview Embroidery; all are in Oak
Harbor and in the phonebook white pages. You will have to
contact them for services and prices depending on what you want
done. They may provide or order jackets for you, but you
probably could buy jackets cheaper at another source.
3. Initiative 1154 – Jim Rairigh told us read it and mail your
Congressperson to vote it down. Ask Jim Rairigh about it. It
has something to do with telling us when we can drive our
classics.
FROM YOUR SECRETARY – New email is jlreeve@hotmail.com.
My goal for this year is the same, to provide as much correct
informative information to you as I possibly can. If you have
any ideas of what you might like to see in the newsletter let me
know. Thanks again.
PRESIDENT’S CORNER:
Several functions are “in the planning” for the club. I am
pleased that more club members are getting involved. This is
what makes a club successful.
Pioneer Automotive Services (the old Chevy dealer on
Pioneer Way) and the Whidbey Cruzers will be hosting a car show
July 23, Saturday. The entry fee will be $10 or 10lbs. of non-
perishable food for the Food Bank. Many Oak Harbor merchants
are in support of the show.
The other Board members and I are open to any car-related
ideas you have. Let us know and we’ll make it happen!
Your Prez,
Lynn Holmes
