1. Mystery- typically involves the investigation of a crime, most often one or more murderers
2. Horror- aim is to frighten the readers
3. Fantasy- stories uses magic, or supernatural as a primary plot element, theme or setting
4. Myths- a story based on tradition or legend, which has a deep symbolic meaning
5. Fairy-tale- is a type of short story that typically features dwarves, fairies, elves, giants, goblins etc. or usually
magic or enchantments
6. Legends- a semi-true story which has been passed on from person-to-person and has important meaning or
symbolism from the culture in which it originated

1. Plot- everything that happens in the story

3. Setting- where the story takes place
4. Point of View- the view from which the story is fold
5. Problem- what needs to be fixed, what is going wrong
