Leadership in Action: MBNHS’ Mountain Lion

Do not become a leader to be acknowledge by the people around you rather

be a leader because people who surrounds you, acknowledge you.

It is undeniably true that there are more animals that have a great stamina,
faster, and better hunter than a lion but what makes lion unquestionably
different is because he has a voice. A roar of authority.

With his lion-like character traits leapt him to become a great leader in his
jungle, James E. Villasis, 18 years old, born on May 17, 2000 to Alberto and
Mary Beth Villasis. James is a truly gifted that’s why in his young age, his
talents truly helped and benefited him a lot. He graduated as Valedictorian in
his Elementary education and received a number of awards having a Tanco
Award, stand as SPG President for two years and a Model Boy for his 6 years
stay in Jaena Norte Elementary School. His success didn’t stop right there for
he was been honored by all for he creates a record in Macario Bermejo NHS
as he is the first person to receive a Championship in Gawad Siklab as the
Most Outstanding SSG (Supreme Student Government) in his time. On the
contrary, he became SSG President and Classroom President for 3
consecutive years and a member of Municipal for the Protection of Children.
In academic, he won sixth place in News Writing in English Division Schools
Press Conference (DSPC).

Just like Simba, the lion protagonist in Disney’s Lion King, James had a hard
time unleashing his potentials. Once see himself as a failure and not capable
in becoming a great leader for he has no self-confidence to gain some respect
to his subordinates and people. But unlike most of people afraid change, for
James change is something you shouldn’t fear so he started to look for
positive in the change that comes the way. He believes that when you keep
believing in yourself and keep trusting God all the struggles in your life will
becomes easy. His parents, teachers and friends are the ones who knocked all
of his senses when he felt nothing but a burden.

James always improving himself, gained strength to face all of his trials as a
leader and therefore he learned how to use his talents and skills and turned it
into power. James delegates his duty perfectly and by that the project is
always successful for he believes that a lion shouldn’t roll over and go to
sleep when its mate goes to hunt, it has work that it also does. That’s why he
also garnered respect and honor from his followers.

“I want to help other people by serving them in a fair and good way and I
know that my step will be followed by those who have the same mindset as
me that is to help people when problem arises”, he cited. And when asked
how he would fulfill it, he simply replied “Everything is easy when you are
crazy for it, and nothing is easy when you are lazy for it”.
