THE LEGEND OF MARIA MAKILING

In ancient times, there were many animals and the mountain was still filled with
trees. One day, a farmer went to the mountain. He will cut woods and hunt for a
goat for his family to eat.

The farmer was so happy. “There! ” said the farmer. He already saw the
goat that he was hunting for, but the goat was a fast runner. “Hey! Come back
here! ”

The farmer followed it and got lost and didn't know the way back. “Huh?!
Where am i? Where did it go? ”

The farmer continued to search for the way back home. He noticed a cotage
at the middle of the forest. And got attrected to what he has saw.

The door opened and a beautiful maiden stood upon him.

The maiden introduced herself to the farmer “Hey there! Oh, are you okay?
You seem tired. Come in. I'm Maria by the way ”and because the farmer was very
tired, she welcomed him to her cotage and gave him foods and drinks . And gave
him a basket full of fruits and vegetables for the farmer's family to eat.“ Here! You
can have this. You can give it to your family.”

When the farmer arrived to his house , he passed the basket to his wife
“Here, Maria gave this to me for us to have something to eat”and a big shock to
what they have saw, “Whoahh!! What is this? Why is this gold?” the fruit and
vegetables turned into gold.

The same happened to there village when Maria Makiling lend them a
hand.

Years had passed. One day ,news started to sread"Did you heard of the
news" one of the towns people said " No, what is it?" "A robbery is on the loose"
another towns people said "I heard they robbed the cotage at the middle of the
forest ".
 Maria got angry. Since then , she didn't showed herself to a mortal ever again .
Even so, they will never forget the kindness that Maria Makiling gave them. They
called the mountain, mount Makiling as a remembrance to the beautiful maiden
they once loved.
