NARATIVE REPORT

ACTIVITY: Court Exposure TIME: 13:00 hrs

VENUE: MTC Branch 21 Lala, Lanao del Norte

SUMMARY OF THE ACTIVITY:

When in court room it was a shinny morning when I had my first court exposure. I was sitting
beside the photocopier waiting that the court will start. While I am sitting I picture out the scenario
I saw the true prosecutor, defence, clerk of court specially the judge. Just like our court practice in
school. The court is silenced. Only our eyeball will moving nonstop we are so thirsty to witness a
trial. While the court start. The clerk of court call the case. And we are all stand and the prayer will
proceed. The judge requesting the appearance , the appearance stand in front of the judge and
the judge plea to him if guilty or not guilty and the accuse plea as guilty. The case was closed. The
accuse violet the illegal gambling and fines of 500 only. And the court order the case was
closed And the court order the next case. The next case is act of lasciviousness . and the clerk of
court call the case . the court requesting the appearances. The victim is the female police officer
and the accuse is also a police officer. While the appearance calling to his counsel but his counsel
cannot appears . the judge will order that the court will resume 14:00 hrs. if the counsel is not
appear in court. The court favourable the victim. In a few minutes later the court will resume. The
judge call the appearance but the appearance counsel not appears the court re schedule the case.
And resume on October 26, 2018. And the judge said to him that if his counsel not appears the
court is favourable to the victim. Accused for the crime of acts of lasciviousness and upon knowing
that, we got terrified to be seated near him. Although we did not have an ample time in that branch
we learned a lot because most of the cases were very interesting; especially the criminal case.
Finally, we were able to see a cross-examination. Indeed criminal case is a painful process
especially to those who really valued the sanctity of their life which turned out to be chaos.
Probably in all court rooms, actions and dramas really happen, that is maybe because what are
involved are the life, liberty and property of a person. This made me appreciate more the role of
legal profession in the society

LESSON LEARN:

We learn a lot while I’m attended in municipal trial court. If we are in court we need to be discipline
and silenced . if you are not a part of the case just observed, and I learned all the case in
municipal court is a civil case. If the counsel of the accused is not appeared it is favourable for
those have counsel . I challenge my self to pursued and study more about the law. Because it is
connected to my coursed. And the knowledge of law is the true weapons of my profession
someday.
