I. LISTENING SECTION
In this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand spoken English. There
are four parts to this section, with special directions for each part.
Part I. Picture.
Questions, 1 to 3
Directions,
For each item, there is a picture and four short statements about it on the tape. They are spoken twice, and
are not written out on your test book, so you must listen carefully. You must choose one sentence, A, B, C,
or D, that best describes the picture. Then, on your answer sheet, mark your choice.
Example,
Look at the picture and listen to the four sentences.
Sample Answer
A. They’re looking out the window.
B. They’re eating in the restaurant. A B C D
C. They’re having a meeting.
D. They’re moving the furniture.
Choice C, They’re having a meeting, best describes what can be seen in the picture. Therefore, you should
mark (C) on your answer sheet.

Choice (C) –“On happy Street.” – is the appropriate response to the question “Where do you live?” Therefore,
you should mark (C) on your answer sheet.

In this part of the test, you will hear several short conversations. The conversations will not be printed in your
test book. You will hear the conversation twice, so you must listen carefully to understand what the speakers
say.
In your test book, you will read a question about each conversation. The question will be followed by four
answers. You have to choose the best answer to each question and mark it on your answer sheet.
Example :
You will hear : Man : Are you a student here?
Woman : Yes, Sir.
Man : Where is the English class?
Woman : Next to the Library.
You will read : Where does the dialogue happen? Sample Answer
A. At the hospital

D. At school
Choice (D) –“At school” – is the best answers the question “Where does the dialogue happen?” Therefore, you
should mark (D) on your answer sheet.

Part V. Reading Comprehension
Questions 16 to 29 are based on a selection of read materials.You have to choose the best answer (A), (B), (C), and (
D) to each question.
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States (1861-1865), who preserved The Union
during the American Civil War and brought about the emancipation of slaves.
Among American heroes, Lincoln continues to have a unique appeal for his fellow countrymen and also
for people of other lands. This charm derives from his remarkable life story the rise from humble origins, the
dramatic death-and from his distinctively hueman and humance personality as well as from his historical role as
savior of the Union and emancipator of the slaves. His relevance endures and grows especially because of his
eloquence as a spokesman for democracy.
In his view, The Union was worth saving not only for its own sake but also it embodied an ideal, the ideal
of self-government. In recent years, the political side to Lincoln’s character, and his racial view in particular, have
come under close scrutiny, as scholars continue to find him a rich subject for research. The Lincoln Memorial in
Washington D.C., was dedicated to him May 30, 1922.
