BIOFENCE /LIFE FENCE:

Life fence/Bio fence work was started in October/November 2018.

Cleaned an area of about 300 to 500 meters along with the boundary in the west part of
the lake.
Native varieties such as Kiluvai and Aloe Vera plantation were planted in a stretch, as a
model. Since the monsoon ended almost in December the work is all set to start/resume
during the current year monsoon rainfall in June to July 2019.
Work is planned to start, resume and continue during every year rainy season for a period
of 2 to 3 years.

IMPACT: Garbage dumping is reducing upon initiation of the work. Created awareness
about bio fence in the locality. Encroachment will be restricted in long term perspective.
Once completed and grows to create greenery thus retains biodiversity within the lake. A
place for livelihood is created and shelter for many small creatures with biofence.

BARBED WIRE FENCING

The fencing work was done in the front portion of the lake where we have planted 250
tree saplings.

It covers a stretch of 500 meters. The work was started in end of February 2019 and
was completed on 20th March 2019.

Cost of fencing as per the list attached.

Vettiver plantation was planned to cover the clean stretch of the feeder canal throughout
the entire area of 8 kilometers and the lake bund in a minimum span of 3 years based on
the monsoon rainfall.

In a first phase to start and cover the canal from the zero point inlet of the lake during the
current year monsoon rainfall in this June. Plantation in Lake bund is set to start during
the next year monsoon.

As a pilot lot /Model area, plantation of vettiver has been done in the slope, a small stretch
of the outer bund of the lake as shown in the annexed photo
