For a year being a finance manager, she also encounter challenges in her
work. While asking her how she passed it she mentioned the 5 E’s. This is her way
to handle the challenges/difficulties, by empowering her people. The 5 E’s are:
Enlist right associates, Enlighten associates, Equip associates, Energize the
associates and to Encourage associates.
As a finance manager reaching this stage is a great achievement. She
herself is blessed to work in a Bookshop. The more challenges that comes to her
the more achievements she takes and pursue herself to keep on working well.
During the interview she stated that she has 5 ways to perform excellence.
The one is to learn from experience. 2nd is to read and study. The 3rd one is to

focus on customer satisfaction. The 4th one is to promote positive store image.
Last but not the least is to sell well. By following these ways, you can perform
your work as a finance manager effectively.
In all Pandayan Bookshops, there are functions given for a finance
manager following the roles stated in Pandayan Executive Learning Areas. A
finance manager should be a leader, a manager, a teacher and a merchant.
A finance manager should be a leader. A leader should focus on managing
different strategies for the system to grow. Being a leader does not mean that she
will just lead. She will also listen to her fellow co-workers.
A finance manager should act like a real manager. A manager who will
handle sales and process improvement as well as in finance and quality
management.
A finance manager should be a teacher that focuses on employee
empowerment and human resource management.
A finance manager should also be a merchant. She should also know how
to sell to know the customer satisfaction. She is also assigned in marketing
management.
After interviewing Mrs. Leron, a finance manager and a store executive, I
learned that having a role like her is not that easy. We see them standing just
standing but after that they have much more hard work to do. But if we motivate
ourself to pursue our job we can work well and have fun while doing it.
