INTRODUCTORY RITE
Commentator:
Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, an enduring symbol of God’s
unconditional love for humanity. The Sacred Heart as a devotion fulfills our inner need to communicate to
God, as expressed by the maxim Cor ad Cor loquitor (heart speaks to heart). May our celebration uncover
our deepest longing for God and also discover God’s will for us.
Our Main Celebrant for this Eucharistic Celebration is His Excellency, The Most Rev. Jose F.
ADVINCULA JR., D.D., Archbishop of Capiz, together with the Capiz Clergy please all rise and let us join
the choir in singing the entrance hymn.

OPENING PRAYER
Fr. Prex: Grant, we pray almighty God, that we, who glory in
the Heart of your beloved Son and recall the
wonders of his love for us, may be made worthy to
receive an overflowing measure of grace from the
fount of heavenly gifts.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God,
for ever and ever.
All: Amen
Commentator: The prophet Ezekiel proclaims God’s searching love for his people who have
scattered themselves because of sin. Through Jesus, the God-Man, the Father’s
compassion will be more fully resealed to the people. Let us listen to the First
Reading.
FIRST READING
Thus says the Lord GOD: I myself will look after and tend my sheep. As a shepherd
tends his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep. I
will rescue them from every place where they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark. I
will lead them out from among the peoples and gather them from the foreign lands; I will
bring them back to their own country and pasture them upon the mountains of Israel in the
land's ravines and all its inhabited places. In good pastures will I pasture them, and on the
mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing ground. There they shall lie down on good
grazing ground, and in rich pastures shall they be pastured on the mountains of Israel. I
myself will pasture my sheep; I myself will give them rest, says the Lord GOD. The lost I will
seek out, the strayed I will bring back, the injured I will bind up, the sick I will heal, but the
sleek and the strong I will destroy, shepherding them rightly.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM
R. Ang Panginoon ang aking Pastol, wala ‘kong dapat ikapangambang anuman.
1. Luntiang pastulan doon hihimlay; malinaw na batis, pamatid-uhaw. Sa tamang landas ako’y babanaagan.
Kay tapat N’ya sa akin. (R)
ibig, tawagin Mo at akaying pauwi. (R)
Commentator: The sacrifice of Christ lays bare the fruit of God’s Love for us. Through his death
we are reconciled to God, even though it is we who have sinned. Let us listen to the
Second Reading.
SECOND READING
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (Rom 5:5b-11)
Brothers and sisters: The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy
Spirit that has been given to us. For Christ, while we were still helpless, died at the appointed
time for the ungodly. Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though
perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die. But God proves his love for us
in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. How much more then, since we are now
justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath. Indeed, if, while we were
enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once
reconciled, will we be saved by his life. Not only that, but we also boast of God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Take my yoke upon you, says the Lord, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.
GOSPEL
Jesus addressed this parable to the Pharisees and scribes: "What man among you having a
hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go
after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with
great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to
them,' Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine
righteous people who have no need of repentance."
HOMILY
PROFESSION OF FAITH
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible
and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the
Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten,
not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men
and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
(At the words that follow, up to and including and became men, all b0w)
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he
was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the
third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the
right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his
kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who
proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and
glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic
Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the
resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
Fr. Prex: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for
through your goodness we have received the bread
we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human
hands, It will become for us the bread of life.
All: Blessed be God forever
Fr. Prex: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation for
through your goodness we have received the wine
we offer you: fruit of the earth vine and work of
human hands, It will become for us our spiritual
drink.
All: Blessed be God forever.
ORATE FRATRES
Fr. Prex: It is truly right and just, our duty and our
salvation, always and everywhere to give you
thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and eternal
God, through Christ, our Lord.
For raised up high on the cross, he gave himself up
for us with a wonderful love and poured out blood
and water from his pierced side, the well spring of
the Church’s Sacraments, so that, won over to the
open heart of the Savior, all might draw water
joyfully from the springs of salvation.
And so, with all the angels and saints, we praise
you, as without end we acclaim:
Sanctus
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II
Fr. Prex: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all
holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we
pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like
the dewfall, so that they may become for us the
Body and + Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
At the time He was betrayed and entered willingly
into His Passion, He took bread and, giving
thanks, broke it, and gave it to his Disciples,
saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU AND EAT OF IT: FOR
THIS IS MY BODY WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP
FOR YOU.
In similar way, when supper was ended, He took
the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave
it to His disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT:
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE
BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND
FOR MANY, FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.
Fr. Prex: The mystery of faith:
All: We proclaim your Death, o Lord,
COMMUNION RITE
Fr. Prex: Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, and
graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help

safe from all distress, as we wait the blessed hope
and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
All: For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever.
RITE OF PEACE
Fr. Prex: Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your Apostles: Peace
I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our

with your will. Who live reign forever and ever.
All: Amen.
COMMIXTIO (MINGLING)
