Extended Warranty Policy

Policy Specifications:
This document contains confidential and trade secret information, is the property of Atlas Copco, and
is given to the receiver in confidence. The receiver by reception and retention of the drawing accept
the drawings in confidence and agrees that, except as authorized in writing by Atlas Copco Company,
it will (1) not use the drawing or any copy thereof or the confidential or trade secret information
therein; (2) not copy the drawing; (3) not disclose to others either the drawing or the confidential or
trade secret information therein; and (4) upon completion of the need to retain the drawing, or upon
demand, return the drawing, all copies thereof, and all material copied there from.

Effective June 1, 2009, an Extended Warranty Policy, issued by Atlas Copco Rock Drills Rock Drills
AB, will be available through the Atlas Copco “Scoop Care” program to extend the warranty coverage
on components to a period equal to the earlier of two (2) years from the initial operation, or the
accumulation of 5 000 engine hours, by the initial user.

The Extended Warranty offers additional protection from the base 1 year/2 000 hours to 2 years/5 000
hours of operation.

The Extended Warranty is only available together with Scoop Care and is not available as a
separate item.

EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AND THERE ARE NOT WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
OR OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE

What the Extended Warranty covers:


Failures that meet all of the criteria outlined in the Atlas Copco standard factory warranty policy,
referring to RDE Service Manual database, document 4.19/1 plus what is outlined in below
conditions. A written claim must be submitted to Atlas Copco for the repair of such failures.

• Failure must occur and be reported to the responsible Atlas Copco customer centre within the
published extended warranty period.
• Failure must be a result of a recognizable defect within the part and / or improper workmanship
by the factory.
• Failure must not include parts listed under non-warrantable items and supplier components.
• Continued use of genuine Atlas Copco Parts, filters and recommended fluids and lubricants.
• Daily checks & maintenance conducted as per maintenance instructions and carried out at
prescribed intervals.
• Atlas Copco will provide either a new part or an authorized factory rebuilt part, at its election,
to replace any part which, upon inspection, is found to be defective in material or workmanship
during the extended warranty period.
• This warranty does not apply to failures occurring as a result of abuse, misuse, negligent repairs,
corrosion, erosion and normal wear and tear, or alterations; modifications made to the product
without express written consent of Atlas Copco; or failure to follow the recommended operation
practices and maintenance guidelines provided in the products operating and maintenance
materials.

Service & Warranty Policy, non - warrantable items


The following items are not considered as warrantable items.

• Fuel, oils, grease and anti-freeze. Filter elements, belts, wear and replacement parts as the result
of normal use or wear.
• Failure of attachments not manufactured or supplied by Atlas Copco.
• Failures and progressive damage resulting from the use of a non Atlas Copco approved part.
• Failures resulting from improper application, operation and maintenance or repair practices.
• Damage resulting from negligence or accidents.
• Towing, hauling loading and unloading costs.
• Loss or damage caused by carrier.
• Repairs required as the result of improper handling, storage or protection by Distributor.
• Distributor workmanship. (Not valid for authorized Atlas Copco distributor)
• Down time or lost production costs.
• Cost of renting or leasing a back-up unit.
• Transportation expenses for obtaining replacement.
• Telephone or other communication expenses.

The following is a list of items (in addition to the items above) that are not covered under the
Extended warranty.

• Normal consumable and wear parts such as breathers, pins, bushings, seals etc.
• Starter motor, alternator.
• Air and hydraulic hoses and fittings
• Air and hydraulic tubing
• Hose assemblies
• Damage resulting from negligence or lack of routine maintenance (Note: Leaking gaskets,
O-rings, and loose connections are considered routine maintenance and not component failure.)

Terms And Conditions:


All parts used during the entire warranty period must be genuine Atlas Copco spare parts.
100% conformance to the recommended operation and maintenance procedures. All lubes, oils,
and fuels to conform to prescribed Atlas Copco recommendations. Availability to regular PM /
maintenance records. A replaced item belongs to Atlas Copco.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The remedies of the user set forth under the provisions of warranty outlined above are exclusive
and the total liability of Atlas Copco or its distributors with respect to this sale or the equipment and
service furnished hereunder, in connection with the performance or breach thereof, or from the sale,
delivery, installation, repair or technical direction covered by or furnished under this sale whether
based on contract, warranty, negligence, indemnity, strict liability or otherwise shall not exceed the
purchase price of the unit of equipment upon which such liability is based. Atlas Copco, its supplier(s)
and its distributors shall in no event be liable to the user, any successors in interest or any beneficiary
or assignee relating to this sale for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special or punitive damages
arising out of this sale or any breach thereof, or any defects in, or failure of, or malfunction of
the equipment under this sale whether based upon loss of use, lost profit or revenue, interest, lost
goodwill, work stoppage, impairment of other goods, loss by reason of shutdown or non-operation,
increased expenses of operation of the equipment, cost of purchase of replacement power or claims of
users or customers of the user for service interruption whether or not such loss or damage is based on
contract, warranty, negligence, indemnity, strict liability or otherwise.
