This paper examines the feasibility of developing a biomass power plant that processes agricultural waste in India. The authors analyze the availability of agricultural waste in different regions of India and the potential power generation from such waste. They determine that a 100 MW biomass power plant using agricultural waste is technically and economically feasible and could help tackle the problems of agricultural waste disposal and energy shortage in India.
