PUBLIC NOTICE TO DOMESTIC ELECTRICITY CONSUMERS

A scheme is envisaged by SOUTHERN POWER DISTRIBUTION COMPANY OF TELANGANA LIMITED
for regularization of additional loads on voluntary basis by LT–I Domestic electricity consumers
on concessional payment of 50% of the development charges. As per the orders of the
Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission, the domestic consumers who have to pay
development charges of Rs.1,200 per kW (GST @ 18% extra) for additional connected loads can now
pay only Rs.600 per kW (GST @ 18% extra) through this voluntary regularization scheme. In
addition, consumers shall pay security deposit for such additional load as per the prevailing rates.
The additional connected loads which are over and above the connected load agreed upon (as
printed in the bill) by the LT-I Domestic Consumer at the time of release of service and not
regularized by the consumers causes unexpected increase in load on the system, overload of
distribution transformers, voltage fluctuations, low voltage, blow of fuses, burnt of distribution
transformers and leads to interruptions in the power supply.
To overcome these problems, the TSSPDCL is providing an opportunity for voluntary regularizing
the additional loads by the LT-I Domestic consumers by making payment of 50% development
charges [50% of Rs.1,200 per kW i.e., Rs.600 per kW (GST @ 18% extra)] and Security Deposit at
the respective Customer Service Centers (CSCs)/Integrated Customer Service Centers (ICSCs) or
through Company’s online web portal (www.tssouthernpower.com).

The consumer on his own can voluntarily regularize his additional load present in the consumer
premises by computing the amount of load required to him in kW (Kilo Watts).

There will be no increase in the present electricity bill due to the regularization of additional
loads. The bill will be based on your consumption only as being done for the previous month
bills.
For any clarification on declaration of additional connected loads, the consumer may approach
CSC/ICSCs/local Electricity Revenue Offices/Section Offices/Division offices/Circle Offices or may
contact the officers through phone number which is printed on the bills.
This scheme is a voluntary disclosure scheme.
The Operative Period of this scheme will be six (6) months from the date of its notification in
the newspapers.
No concession will be extended after the expiry of the scheme.
