5. Program Content:
a) Comprehensive Project
The Comprehensive Project is a platform for EPGP students to interact with
industry. The objective of the project is to get the student to apply concepts and
Methodologies, learnt in the programme, to real-world management challenges.
Carrying 3 credits, this is a group project with a maximum of three students in a
group. The project commences in June and is completed by the end of Term 4
(November). The duration of the project is approximately 10 weeks, and students
are expected to spend close to 100 hours on the project. Though they work on the
project along with their other courses, they will get sufficient time to interact with
their project sponsors. A faculty member will guide students and the sponsoring
organization will assign a project champion to ensure the successful completion of
the project.
b) Innovative Content
The faculty at IIMB engages in cutting-edge research to bring the latest into the
classroom. The pedagogy adopted ensures vibrant discussions and critical
assessments. Themes drawn from the realm of social sciences are integrated
into the programme in a structured manner leading to a nuanced,
multilayered understanding of management issues.
c) Seminar Series
The EPGP incorporates a Seminar Series, involving experts and practitioners in
diverse fields such as the liberal arts, NGOs, sports, media, and international
development, as well as prominent members of the corporate world. The broad
range of ideas and perspectives from both inside and outside the world of
management provides a fertile ground for holistic leadership development.
d) Multiple Resources
A key advantage of the EPGP lies in having access to all the resources and
facilities of IIMB. This includes the ability to choose from a broad range of
electives and classes offered by other programmes at the institute, and an
opportunity to network with the alumni, who are some of the brightest minds in
India and abroad.
e) Peer Learning
The composition of the EPGP batch ensures a diverse cohort of participants
with wide ranging skills, backgrounds, exposure and experience. Learning
through peer group exchange and knowledge sharing becomes one of the most
powerful tools of the programme.
8. SWOT
Feedback:
Nine years in the Oil and Gas vertical of Samsung as a structural engineer
equipped me with technical know-how. What I sought was management
skills. Working towards earning an MBA, I was impressed by the alumni of
IIMB’s one-year programme. To me, the EPGP is an investment.
Jayavardhan Nayak
I have worked for seven years in the automobile sector in the aftermarket
operations function. I was looking to broaden my horizons. IIMB beckoned. I
love the campus. The faculty encourage lively discussions in class as they
help us connect our real-world experience to theoretical concepts and
frameworks. My classmates are a source of inspiration and learning. The
course is intense and exciting. At the end of one-year, I shall emerge
transformed.
