GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER TRAIINING


Dear student,

We are confident that you will be delivering your best efforts in the organization in which you are to
undergo summer training and will make every effort to convert this training into a long-term relationship
with that organization.
To enable you to score high and make good use of your efforts during training and subsequent
evaluation (in the following semester), we are sending you guidelines (along with formats as attachments)
which you are required to follow rigorously.

GUIDELINES DURING SUMMER TRAINING FOR ALL MANAGEMENT STUDENTS

Regarding Topic Submission Form

1. Topic Submission form will be sent by students through email to Placement Cell,
placmentdobm@gmail.com (a copy to the Faculty Guide).
2. No Topic Submission form will be acceptable by hand or orally or WhatsApp etc.
3. Last date for this form submission is 15 June 2018. No extension is possible for any reason.
4. The email should clearly mention your name, class and registration number.
6. Follow Annexure #1 for the format of Topic Submission Form.

Evaluation Basis

1. All students must note that they have to maintain two separate files containing complete
records of their training work during six weeks.

File #1: It will contain all the reports, topic submission form, fortnightly progress reports (hard
copy of sent e-mails), attendance sheet (maintained during training), and all the paper documents
maintained during training (as a proof of meaningful contribution to Organization).
Urgent Note: Students must retain the photocopies of all the documents sent to GGNIMT during
training by e-mail or personally (when to visit on scheduled date) and maintain these records in a
separate file. This file will be a significant basis for evaluation during 3 rd term presentations.

File #2: This file will be the Summer Training Project Report. It should be
prepared strictly according to the detailed guidelines laid down in Manual for Summer
Training. This report will carry 30 marks out of total 100.

Urgent Note: Report not prepared according to specified format will not be accepted. Maximum
use of Statistical tools must be made in your reports at appropriate places. Follow Annexure 2 for
guidelines related to report writing.

Company Appraisal: On Completion of training, your performance will be evaluated by your Training
Supervisor (in company) on Industry Feedback Form (Follow Annexure #3). Adhere to following
guidelines
1. Provide Industry Feedback Form (Hard Copy) to your Training Supervisor by 25h June 2018.
2. On completion of summer training, get this form (duly filled by training supervisor) in sealed
envelope with the supervisor signature encrypted on the envelope.
3. Forms not submitted in a sealed envelope or without signature or tampered envelopes will not
be considered for evaluation.
4. Student must attach the envelope in File One along with other documents. This is a
confidential document & it should be opened only in the presence of the panel members during
student's students’ personal visit to meet his Summer Training Guide.

Regarding Fortnightly Progress Reports


1. All the students will be required to send fortnightly Progress Reports through e-mail.
2. Dates for Submission of Fortnightly Progress Reports are: 20 June-First and subsequently
after every 15 days.
4. All the students will clearly mention their details in the subject of the e-mail as follows:
Subject: First Fortnightly Progress Report of Mr. ………………, Class: ……………… Roll No.:
……………..

Regarding Monitoring

All the students are advised to take their summer training rigorously and in the event of surprise check up
(expected in June-July), any student found absent or one's performance in organization found unsatisfactory
by faculty on visit may lead to cancellation of summer training.

All the students must keep in touch with their faculty guides during training. They should provide following
information to the faculty guide through e-mail latest by 15 June 2018.
1) Name, E-mail id & Contact No. of Training Supervisor.
2) Topic of Summer Training Project.
3) Company Name & Location.

Some students should work with the complete consent and guidance of their company guide only. For any
academic and project guidance, they should contact their faculty guide.

All students undergoing summer training will report at campus to their faculty guides on the following days: 22
June 2018 & 7 July 2018.
They must inform their company guides about these dates well in time for permission.

 LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION OF FINAL PROJECT REPORT: WITHIN 15 DAYS FROM


THE START OF THE SESSION
 WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THE START OF THE SESSION, THERE WILL BE
PRESENTATIONS OF SUMMER TRAINING REPORTS BY ALL STUDENTS ON
DESIGNATED TWO DAYS (No teaching of other subjects on these days).

and subsequently after every 15 days

In case, any faculty member is on summer vacation, he/she will continue to guide the students as per his/her
convenience. In case of Student’s personal visit on 20 June and 5 July 2018, the teacher must give alternative
dates to the student and intimate the undersigned in writing in advance.

data, sample place, sampling technique and methodology to be used, limitations of the study
should be explained.

4. Data Presentation, Analysis and Interpretation : Use of appropriate statistical techniques (


Hypothesis testing ; Z test, t Test, F test, Multivariate Data Analysis techniques like Factor
Analysis, Discriminant Analysis etc.) should be made

5. Summary, Conclusions & Recommendations


Appendix (Questionnaire, Glossary of Terms, Abbreviations, Documents, Performas, Financial
statements etc.)

* Executive Summary/ Abstract:

The report should carry an abstract (or executive summary) in the initial pages of the report. It
helps the reader to get an overview of the report. The length of the executive summary/
abstract can be upto 3-6 pages and should throw light on the following essential information:

- Purpose/ objective of the study and its significance


- Scope of the study and methodology
- Findings and recommendations

** Bibliography must be presented in the following format:

 Reference to a book:

 Reference for an article:
