Institute of Volanology and Seismology.

HOST: About volcanic eruption can you tell us about the latest volcanic eruptions happened?
GUEST: Overall there are 49 volcanoes with on going eruptions as of the stop dates indicated, and as
reported through the last data update (11 JULY 2019), sorted with the most recently started
eruption at the top. The name of the volcano is Etna in ITALY.
HOST: Ohh I see. I’ve prepared a video about volcanic eruptions and I will ask something that is related
to the video.
GUEST: OKAY, that video is the eruption of MT. Pinatubo last JUNE 15 1991 There are almost 20,000
people evacuated 800 people are killed and it so very dangerous it is the second largest in 20th
century eruption.
GUEST: It’s because of the molten rock rising toward the surface from more than 20 miles beneath
Pinatubo triggered small earthquakes and caused powerful stream explosions.
HOST: can you tell us the safety tips to be prepared in this kind of situation?
GUEST: As much as possible stay away from active volcanoes and review evacuation routes, prepared
emergency kit, listen for emergency alerts and do what they say.
