I wasn’t expecting to be standing here in front of you today to deliver what is supposed to be a
Grand Knight’s Message. As we all know, our elected Grand Knight, SK Alexander B. Yarra was appointed
as District Deputy of a newly-created district, P09. By virtue of his appointment and by rules of succession,
I shall be your Grand Knight. I just can’t stop thinking that I became a Grand Knight by chance and by
circumstance and maybe, by destiny. Mao na siguro ni ang ginatawag nga “Guhit ng Kapalaran.” I want
to assure all of you that I am accepting this task with open heart and I pledge to fulfill the tasks, duties
and responsibilities of a Grand Knight.

However, to be honest with all of you, I am not sure if I am fit to the position. My doubts and
fears are due to so many reasons:

1. I don’t know if I am emotionally mature enough to be a Grand Knight and lead such intelligent
and honorable Brother and Sir Knights;
2. I may not be financially capable to be a Grand Knight. (maski lechong manok gani, maglisud pa ko
ug pledge… murag mutuo na ko nga GK means Gasto Kaayo…. Dili Guapo Kaayo)
3. We all know that I am a good follower, I am just not sure, if I am a good leader.

With those doubts and fears, I am appealing to each and every one of you to bear with me and
understand my incapacities and shortcomings. I am praying that you will indulge me with the same
support and participation that we afforded to my predecessors.

Kabalo man siguro tang tanan na daghan pang puede ug angayan na mahimung Grand Knight sa
atung council. Wala lang sila nahatagan ug higayun. That is why, I am appealing to all of you, hatagan
natu sila ug higayun. NEXT TIME…

Finally, I want to thank all of you for your participation in the preparation of today’s event. The
different groups who contributed and made sure that we will not only be having five (5) lechons today
but a variety of foods. To the Columbiettes, for their undying love and support to us and for preparing
the hall. The officers of the council for actively complying their duties. To our favorite band, the SJMV
Band, SK Bebe, SK Mechael, SK Jasper, SK Jomoldz, SK BoyDims, and all the other alternate singers of the
band, just like me. To our Worthy Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Arnel P. Cabrera, DCK, salamat sa padayung suporta
sa council ug sa pagsabut sa mga tulibagbag nga miyembro.
