E-mail: husseinrizgallah@gmail.com Dear President Hon. William Samoei Ruto , How are you, Sir? I hope you are healthy and well. I am glad I was able to vote for you . I heard so many things from my mom and elder brothers as I grew up on how you played a big role in my late father’s nomination as councillor in hospital biashara ward in Kericho municipal council back then in 2002. We believed as a family , that you would be different from the past leaders we had who were traditional politicians. We had a lot of friends from who were against you but we believed in giving you a chance. Your plans for the country were promising. We were expectant that Kenya would be a better place to live in with you as its President. Mr President , I am writing you this letter as a minority and marginalized youth from the Nubian community. Mr President , as a minority and marginalized community, we had high hopes that you will be true to the promises that you uttered when campaigning for presidency. It's just days Mr President and we have seen how you have handled the situations that our country is facing. You made decisions that are good; you implemented actions that are fatal and consequences will be seen in few months . When the party nomination lists from each county were being gazetted , we were hopeful as a marginalized nubian community that your party would at least consider us . We expected better from you Sir but we still believed in you and said perhaps it's not you but your people in the party . Mr President , we then said that you would certainly consider us in the PS positions since a number of persons from our community applied but to our shock Mr President , none was even shot listed. We do not know what happened Sir. But we still kept on believing and hoping. We continued to trust and respect you because we believe that we are called to honour our leaders. Mr President Sir , this is truly heart-breaking . I can’t put everything down in this letter Sir . My humble request is if you can give me a chance to explain to you more in details and also on how you can help my community . It must be very difficult , to lead a country of about 40 million people. I understand that it’s a very difficult season for you Sir . But I hope that you will remember the promises that you have spoken before you took the oath to lead our country. I pray that you will look at the faces of the many Kenyans who voted, trusted and rooted for you. Mr President , my community and I , believed in you. We still do. And we will continue to believe and respect you; even if the party nominations and PS positions left me hurt and certainly my community as a whole , we will pray for you, that you will have wisdom as you make decisions. We will pray that you will lead in righteousness and justice. We pray for renewed passion for the nation and compassion towards your people. We pray for grace to wake up each day, knowing that you have been given the privilege to make a great impact to the nation you are leading. We also declare perfect health upon you. Several Kenyan Presidents have been ousted because they failed to lead the country well, and they chose to pursue their selfish ambitions before the needs of their people. This is not my wish for you. It is my prayer that you will redeem yourself, that you will prove your enemies wrong, including those whose trust in you are waning. I hope that you will finish your term with flying colours, even if what’s before you are gloomy and dark. Dear President William Samoei Ruto , many people think and speak ill of you. I understand them. Probably they are hurting or suffering. But to speak ill of you, is the last thing I will do because I know that you love your people and you want what’s best for them. Will you prove me right Sir? A concerned Kenyan citizen, from a minority and marginalized community . Hussein Omar Nasser .
