KX-Feeler Gauge Calibration
Instructions:
Feeler Gauge Specifications
1. A .003" feeler gauge shall be used to verify parallel between the propeller shaft flange and transmission out put flange on
2. The feeler gauges shall only be divided into two 6" segments from the original 12" feel gauge. This will limit one deformed
3.The deformed end edge will also have a rubber protective cap ( chicklet). This will sever as an indicator for the deformed e
protection.
4.The feeler gauge shall be inspected by the employee prior to each use. If the gauge indicates signs of ware, or deformatio
5.The feeler gauge will require in house calibration by the calibration specialist.
Calibration Procedure
The following procedure shall be conducted by the calibration specilest.
1. Inspect the feeler gauge for any signs of damage, ware or deformation.
2. Using the Master Micrometer measure the thickness of the feeler gauge.
3. The feeler gauge standered is .003" with zero tolarance.
4. If the feeler gauge is in good condition and measures .003" thickness; thus passing calibration, place a calibration sticker
5. If the feeler gauge fails calibration, notify the supervisor and remove the gauge from service. A calibriton alert is to be pos
employee that the feeler gauge was assigned to, and any impact the failed gauge might have.
6. All calibration results is to be entered into the calibration data base.
7. The calibration peiord will be every 3 months.
