STOCKYARD DAYS 3
‘Party till the cows come home’ at Stockyard Days
I t ’ s t i m e f o r N ew B r i g h t o n ’ s
annual festival, Stockyard Days, cel-
ebrating the city and its 19th cen-
tury roots as livestock grounds.
From Aug. 3 to 12, residents and
regional visitors will have a chance
to join in on nine days of fun and
games, happening primarily in Long
Lake Regional Park, located at 1500
Old Highway 8.
Now in its 38th year, Stockyard
Days has become a cherished tra-
dition, full of vendors and events
that festivalgoers enjoy year after
year, like the Antique Car Run and
Duck Race. The organizing commit-
tee strives to deliver a consistently
excellent event, while also testing
out new ideas.
So, come see for yourself — this
year will bring back plenty of tried-
and-true favorites, while also giving
longtime festivalgoers something
new to look forward to.

After the water ski show made
a smashing debut, Stockyard Days
organizers decided to bring it back
for a second year at noon on Sunday,
Aug. 11, at Long Lake Regional Park
beach.
The Duck Race will return to
Creekview Park, also at noon on
Aug. 11. Buy a rubber duck, remem-
ber the number written on its belly,
and hope your pick comes out ahead
as hundreds of bath toys tumble
down Rice Creek.
If you’re more of a dog person,
check out one of the new events at
this year’s festival, the Puppy Bowl,
organized by Core Pet Zone running
Aug. 9 to 11.
