What are the benefits of doing push-ups and sit-up? Let’s figure it out. For this activity, everyone
will read the same article. The article will share with use some of the benefits of performing
push-ups and sit-ups. You might be asking yourself right about now, why do I need to know
this? Well, let me tell you. As we grow older it is important to keep our bodies healthy and fit,
and to do this we have to exercise. Simple exercises like push-ups and sit-ups can be beneficial
because they have a number of benefits, and can be done without equipment. The article will go
more in-depth about the benefits of push-ups and sit-ups.
For this assignment, everyone will individually create a KWL chart. The first step to this
assignment is to fill out the K (know) section of your KWL chart. What you write in here is
material that you already know about push-ups and sit-ups. After completing the K section of
your chart, you will fill out the W (want to know) section of your KWL chart. After you have
finished the K and W section, read the article completely. By reading the entire article before
filling out the remaining of your KWL chart, you will not miss out on any material because you
are focused on the article. Once you have completed the article, you can then go back into the
article to find section that are new to you and that you learned from reading the article. When
you find something that you learned, you will fill it out in the L (learned) section of your KWL
chart. Remember, it is important to use full sentences in your KWL chart. You should be able to
hand your KWL chart to anyone in class and they should be able to understand what you knew,
want to know, and learned. There is no harm in adding how you know something, why you want
to know something, and what interested you in what you learned.
