In our generation we often receive criticisms for not valuing the things that we

have, and one of that is education. Some of us view school as a boring place and
studying as a very tiring work to do, the reason why, parents scold their children for
being lazy and unproductive student. And even teachers can prove that because of
students who go to computer shops and play games instead of attending their class. At
some point, those actions created a negative image for our generation. And it mark to
the mentality of other people that we take education for granted because it is more
accessible right now. But then, despite of those perceptions, there are still people who
strive hard and give importance to education. One of that is Arcel Brenio who is featured
in a documentary “Reel Time: Tulay ng Piloto” by Kara David of GMA network. Arcel
Brenio is a 14 year old boy, who lives in Panipiason Madalag, Aklan. His dream to be a
pilot caused him to bravely cross the deteriorated bridge in order for him to go to school.
He even sells abaca to help his family and even though the bridge could break anytime,
he didn’t lose hope. Indeed, he received medals and plaques for his hard works. Just
like him, we also know how to value education, that’s why we are trying our best in
school. We also have our own dreams and we believe that education is the key for it.
