OBJECTIVES
Effective Management of various Utilities required in Process Plants, like Steam, Cooling water, Electric Power,
Instrument Air Nitrogen, etc. and Energy-consuming Systems like Fuel Gas Fuel Oil can lead to significant Cost
and Energy savings as well as increased comfort, lower maintenance costs, and extended equipment life. A
successful Utilities and Energy Management Program begins with a thorough Utilities Energy Audit, which
evaluates the efficiency of any system that uses Utility Energy. Energy and Utilities Audit activities, in general
entail - Identifying all Utilities Energy Systems, Evaluate the condition of the Systems, and analyse the impact of
improvements to these Systems

NEED OF THIS PROGRAM

It is well understood that good Utilities and Energy Management is an effective Management tool. Furthermore,
for Corporates dealing with Energy sector, the sourcing security of Energy Utilities is very vital for their business
sustenance. Whereas, for the user, its cost of final deliverance is important, spiralling cost of Energy Utilities had
always been a limiting factor for any business sector, as it affects the profitability. To improve bottom line, one
looks for reduction in operating costs. One of the major avenues is always found to be Energy and Utilities. Broadly,
Energy Utilities can account for as much as to of total Operating Cost. Therefore, innovations in Utilities
Management and Energy Conservation becomes a paramount exercise to contain the revenue expenditure on
this account.
