C610A Local Upgradation Guidance

This document is only suitable for Indian BSNL CPAN Project A1/A2 node (610A) local upgradation

1. HARDWARE & SOFTWARE PREPARING

1) RJ45 LAN cable;


2) PC/Laptop with TELNET service enable;

3) WinSCP;

4) Device software patch & version inform CFG;

2. SET CONNECTION TO DEVICE

1) Connect LAN cable to device


Connect to device from F port and check link status via LED.

2) Set NIC IP

Default IP: 610A have one default IP: 10.18.0.11 when manufacture from factory. This IP can
be used for local login for upgradation purpose.

NE IP: If 610A has been already configured or integrated, login IP will the NE IP. In this case,
please confirm the IP from relevant NOC before login.

So need set your PC in same IP segment and check if is pinging to the connected device.
3. UPLOAD PATCH
1) Login device GUI file system
Use WinSCP to upload C610 patch through WinSCP.
Protocal: SCP
Host Name: 10.18.0.11 or NE IP
User Name & Password: root
2) Upload patch
Upload version inform file : fibmgmt_dev_info.cfg into /etc/lrconfig

Upload upgradation file : dev_upgrade.dat into /usr/local/data


4. EXECUTE UPGRADATION
1) TELNET device
2) Type command as pic showing
Login,user ID and PSW is root
mips_dev_ver –h
mips_msgq_sd –h
mips_msgq_sd up_now

3) Wait for reboot


When rebooting TELNET will be disconnected and whole reboot process will takes
around 5-6 minutes.
4) Check version
When telnet restore, need type below command to check updating version. If match, the
upgradation will be successful.
