8 Grammar Review

Play the game in groups of three. Throw the dice and move your counter. Complete the
sentences with your own ideas. Who can reach the end first and change the world?

If I ruled the world, I would ban all

cars from city centres. If I hadn’t watched the news last night,
I wouldn’t have come to this demonstration.

If we had discussed this topic at school, I would know more about it.

8 Grammar Review
Aims: To review and practise second, third and mixed
conditionals. This can be completed when students have
finished the unit.
Time: 15–20 minutes
Materials: 1 handout for each group of three students;
you will also need dice and counters for each group
• Divide students into groups of three. Give them a copy
of the board game, a dice and counters. Tell them to
place the counters on START HERE!
• The first student rolls the dice, moves their counter
and completes the sentence on the square. If they
can’t complete the sentence, or they make a mistake,
they go back three spaces.
• The winner is the first person to the THE END square,
or the person on the highest number when you stop
the game.
