Configuring POS Network Cash Drawers

 APGCdRelUtil.exe to the thumb drive. This only needs to be done once.


 Patch in cable from the new Cash Drawer to laptop. Plug in Cash Drawer power. Wait
30 seconds after powering on for the drawer to be discoverable.
 From the thumbdrive, launch the APG Release Utility.
 When the window appears, proceed as follows:

1. Click Scan and wait a few seconds for the drawer to appear.

2. Select Device.
3. Click Details.
4. Click Configuration.

5. Make sure “Use DHCP” is unchecked.


6. Enter the New IP Address.
7. Validate and Update the Subnet Mask.
8. Enter the appropriate Default Gateway for the SubNet.

The Network settings are the following:


a. Network IP Address- ending octet of .180
b. Default Gateway- .177
c. Subnet- 255.255.255.240
d. Multiple Cash Drawers IP Range- ending octet of .180, .181, etc

9. After you follow the configuration steps below, you will call the bridge and provide
them with a picture of the device info from the bottom of the cash drawer. You
will also need, the store number, and IP address so that it can be added on the
back end. Before you call the bridge, make sure you have connectivity lights on, 1-
3 and 25-27 on the new External Switch. If not, contact your PM and ask
to confirm the ports were configured by T-Mobile Engineering.

10. Click OK
11. Click Ok on the Configuration Update Screen

12. Unplug the Cash Drawer patch cable from the POS PC. Replace the patch cable to
return the POS PC to the network. Patch the new Cash Drawer into an available
port on the faceplate and make sure it’s patched in.
13. Click Scan on the APG Device Recovery Tool
14. Select Desired Device
15. Click Monitor
16. Click Open Drawer – Validate Drawer Opened
