Assignment – I

Fall Semester: 2019-20

Programme Name: B.Tech
Course Code & Name: ECE 3010– Antennas and Wave Propagation

1. What is the maximum power received at a distance of 10 Km over a free space?

A 1000 MHz circuit consists of a transmitting antenna with a 25 dB gain and a
receiving antenna with a 20 dB gain w.r.t to isotropic antennas. Input power to
transmitting antenna is 150 Watt.
2. Find the basic path loss for a communication from the Moon to the earth,
operating at 3000 MHz.
3. A 50 KW transmitter employs a vertical grounded half-wave antenna with a
directivity of 1.41 as compared to a short dipole. If the transmitter frequency is
1 MHz, Find the field having dielectric constant 15 and conductivity   104
mho/m.
4. What is the radio horizon of a television antenna is placed at a height of 166
meters? If the signals is to be received at a distance of 66 Km, what should be
the height of receiving antenna?
5. Prove that radiation resistance of Half Wave Dipole is 73 ohm.
