Chamber Music Ensemble

Cecilia Serra, Clarinet

Dagmara Szydło, Viola

Mauricio Garza, Piano

About us
The chamber music ensemble “Trio Schönbrunn” was born in Vienna in the first years of last decade.
Its three members, Cecilia Serra (Clarinet), Dagmara Szydlo (Viola) and Mauricio Garza (Piano) met for
the first time in the halls of the “ Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst “ during their years as
students in Austria’s capital city and they realized that their music conception was quite similar and it did
not take long before they became a music ensemble.

One of the ensemble’s assets is the freshness that the mixture of its instruments brings. Unlike the
More traditional ensembles like piano-violin-cello or piano-voice, the viola and the clarinet are excellent
counterparts to each other, both instruments being well known for the depth of their sound in the
mid-low tone range.

The group received supervision from. Mrs. Teresa Leopold during the first years when its members were
pursuing Chamber Music studies at the Music University in Vienna, Austria. Further support came from
important teachers such as H. Hajek and M. Prinz at the Music University and the Music Conservatory
in Austria.
During the initial professional phase, the ensemble performed constantly in Vienna. Important venues
where they presented their music include the Klara Schumann Hall, the StadtInitiative Theater and the main
Concert Hall of the University of Music in Vienna. Due to its outstanding quality, the trio was selected to
produce a professional recording at the University of Music.

After the Vienna years, the ensemble embarked on an international career with concerts in Mexico, Spain
and the United states of America, where they performed at major chamber music festivals like the
"Chamber Music Festival XXI Century" in Tamaulipas, The “San Pedro Arte Fest” in Nuevo León, the
"Juventudes Musicales" concert cycle in Alcalá de Henares and the "Autumn Festival" at the Main
University in Brownsville, Texas.

Ever since the Pianist moved to Germany in 2010, the ensemble performs regularly in Spain and Germany.
In Spain, the trio has had concerts in the cities of Madrid (Espacio Ronda, Función Lenguaje), Alcalá de
Henares (Juventudes Musicales) and Palencia (Fundación Díaz-Caneja). In Germany, the ensamble
performed at the “Internationales Theater Frankfurt” as part of the celebrations of the Mexican Consulate
in Frankfurt and in the cities of Karlsruhe and Bremen (Piano-Podium cycle at the Kulturambulanz
Center).
