Home Economics Literacy


Course Outline
Course Description

This course deals with the college curriculum usually includes studies in housing and
family economics, foods and applied nutrition, clothing and textiles, household economics, home
nursing and beauty care.

Course Objectives

1. To learn the importance of basic economics.


2. To apply safety standards and procedures in preparing food.
3. To learn basic principles in sewing.
4. To learn good housekeeping inside the workshop.
5. To administer basic first aid.

MPC Vision

The Marikina Polytechnic College shall be the national center for hinger professional
teacher and technical education and training and the development center for shoe and leather
craft and other allied industries by 2020.

The college is committed to promote quality and relevant education and training for
prospective administrators, teachers, trainers and technopreneurs and to produce quality
researches for the development of shoe and leather craft and other allied industries.
