COURSE SYLLABUS

Professor: Raulito C. Trinidad, MAEd Department: Teacher Education Collegiate Year: 2019-2020 Semester: 1st
Course Title Christology and Christian Discipleship
This course is an introduction to the formal study of the theology of Jesus, the Christ (Christology). The course will begin with a
discussion on the definition of Christology and its place within the Christian faith. With the Easter Event being the starting point, we shall
dwell on the Resurrection of Jesus in the New Testament, then do a survey on the development of Christology from the Early Church, the
Course Description Middle Ages, to the Modern Period. The course ends with a discussion on Christian Discipleship as a contextual Christology. It is a study
of the Way of Jesus from a believer’s point of view. It utilizes two poles in doing Christology, the pole of human experience and the pole of
our Faith tradition in order to arrive at a more meaningful and relevant understanding of Jesus Christ.
