I worked with Ohio County Schools Communications Coordinator Gabe Wells to create a written
communication statement that was released to Ohio County Schools Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Wheeling Park High School Careeer and Technical Education Director, Stephanie Bugaj hosted the event at
the Driehorst Shelter at Oglebay Park. Career and Technical teachers invited students from their programs
to attend the leadership academy. Ohio County Schools Superintendent Dr. Kim Miller and Innovation
Corrdinator JoJo Shay stopped by to recognize the students and see the great relationships built between the
students and teachers. The pictures were taken by Mr. Wells at the Driehorst Shelter. Below is the
communication statement and pictures that were posted on the county social media accounts.

Wheeling Park High School’s Student Leaders received a round of applause from the school’s career and
technical education teachers.
The students took part Wednesday in the annual Wheeling Park High School Career Center Skills for Life
Leadership Academy held at the Driehorst Shelter at Oglebay Park. A number of students volunteered their time to
attend the event, and they collaborated on setting goals and developing strategies for success.
Wheeling Park High School Assistant Principal Stephanie Bugaj is the school’s career and technical education
director. She thanked all of the students for attending the event, and Bugaj and the career and technical education
teachers in attendance applauded the students for taking part in the event.
Teachers and students were treated to lunch at the Leadership Academy, and there were also gifts and prizes.
