I. OBJECTIVES:
A. CONTENT STANDARD
The learners demonstrate understanding of key concepts of factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables,
systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables and linear functions.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learners are able to formulate real-life problems involving factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables,
systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables and linear functions, and solve
these problems accurately using a variety of strategies.
C.LEARNING COMPETENCIES
The learners factor completely different types of polynomials (polynomials with
common monomial factor, difference of two squares, sum and difference of two cubes, perfect
square trinomials, and general trinomials).
III. PROCEDURES
A. INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
A. Preparation
1. Routinary activities
Prayer
Greetings
Checking of attendance
1. Activity
WORD HUNT
- The teacher would give the students a word hunt worksheet. Then, the
teacher would define the terms found in the word hunt activity.
2. Analysis
AGREE / DISAGREE
Instructions: The teacher would provide Agree/Disagree form with questions
on it. The first column is for the statements, the second is for the
Agree/Disagree for Before then another for the After. Before the discussion,
each student would answer the Before part. Then together with the teacher,
they would answer the After part during discussion.
3. Abstraction
The teacher would give an improvement rubric.
4. Application
The teacher would teach the students to make a foldable.
IV. ASSESSMENT
The teacher would give a worksheet.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Factor each polynomial completely.
1. 12𝑎 + 24𝑏 − 20𝑐
2. 4𝑥 5 + 8𝑥 3
3. 6𝑥 2 + 2𝑥𝑦 − 3𝑥𝑧 − 𝑦𝑧
4. 4𝑎2 − 9𝑏 2
5. 16𝑏 2 𝑐 2 − 1
