FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

This month the old Mission Drive-In will come to life with an outdoor event showcasing
the talents of San Antonio youth.

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 20, 2018) - “Teens on a Mission,” hosted by High Voltage Music
Program, will feature live music and local teen artists. The official Tricentennial event
will take place on Saturday Oct. 20, 2018 from 3-10 p.m. at the Mission Marquee Plaza.

“We hope that this event will shine a light on our work in the community and on the
artistic efforts of local teens,” said High Voltage Music Program founder Bell Solloa.

The event will be headlined by San Antonio rock band Black Molly, Austin group Tiarra
Girls and High Voltage Music Program’s own teen group Z-Pocalypse. Other performers
include DJ ESPR, San Antonio’s Girls Rock Camp band and students from the High
Voltage Music Program.

San Antonio teens will also be featured in the event’s art gallery and vendor booths.
Local youth will have the opportunity to display and sell their own works during the
event. Those interested in participating as a featured artist or vendor must submit their
art by Oct. 13, 2018.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to create their own works of art at workshops
hosted by La Printeria, Lavaca Studios, TexPop and Martinez House Women’s Center
Art.

Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Raffle tickets will be for
sale at the event, with prizes donated from local area retailers including an electric
guitar bundle, skateboards, music, gift cards and jewelry. Proceeds from the raffle will
benefit High Voltage Music Program’s annual budget.

High Voltage Music Program (HVMP) is an after-school program that provides free
music lessons to San Antonio youth. The mission of HVMP is to enrich the lives of
community teens through the opportunity of music education in an area of the city that
lacks these resources in schools.
