COURSE: BSED- English SUBJECT: Understanding the Self

What I have learned today is about the self concept which is the ideal self it

means the thoughts and feelings and it believes that each of uniquely foster. Moreover

the self concept undermines the different illusions or the realization about ourselves and

the world around us. Thus, psychologists have studied that mostly of the people are

depressed and perceived with low self esteem. But contrary with that depressed people

have a realistic view of the world because they put control to the qualities of the

situations they have experienced but they also have a negative perspective that is not a

healthy habit. Unlike, the normal functioning people or what we called the not

depressed people they display a positive illusions of life which is good to the self and it

perceives good insight of how we should handle our self.

Furthermore, we had tackled the differences of the social roles and social norms.

So, social roles is defined as the parts that a person plays in different situations and

with other people with our roles change in order to fit the expected behaviours in

various situations. So it simply implies your behaviour towards other people how you

deal or see yourself when you are with them. And on the other hand social norms is

defined as the constitute of the unwritten rules that we have about how to act in a

certain scenarios and with various people in our lives. So it simply implies our own

actions toward the invisible rules or what they mean the unwritten rules that implies our
own understanding and on how we interpret it on our own understanding that equates

our actions toward other people. So to simply understand we must understand the

meaning of norms so it means the act that serve as a guideline that shape our

behaviour.

Also, I have learned that the agent self allows us to make our own choices and

utilize our control in such situations and actions. It resides over everything that involves

decision making, self control. And it also deals with taking charge in situations and

actively responding on such situations. Overall, it is really important to carefully

understand and examines our own self and on how we deal with other people.
